Default Moto GP corkscrew jacket + pants attachment

Just got my Moto GP Corkscrew jacket and love it, I also ordered some Tourmaster apex pants also - http://www.newenough.com/protective_...pants.html?s=p

My plan was to take the Moto GP's zipper and mate it to the Tourmaster's pants. Problem is it looks like it would be a very difficult thing to do because the zipper on the pants isn't just tacked on- its made right in the seam of the pants. So just get some Moto GP pants then right?? Problem is the only ones I can find are the apex ones, and people say they only have the 8" zipper. In fact doing a Google search reveals even the "Grid" Moto GP pants have an 8" zipper. So what should I do?? I honestly don't want a tailor ruining a set of $220 pants.

Did the pants come with the zippers mating half? If so, sew that to the jacket. If not send one or the other back and get something else. If you have access to a sewing machine it really isn't to hard to do.

Baron - As far as the MotoGP pants - some have the 8" zipper while other have the full 360 one. I ordered two pair of Apex pants - one for me and one for a buddy. His pants were too big, but they had the full zipper and they fit me, so I sent the other pair back that only had the 8" zipper. If you order Apex pants online, make certain you ask for a pair with the 360 zipper. The pair I have have a tag stating they were made in 06. The pair with the 8" zipper were made in 04. Both were purchased from www.motorcyclecloseouts.com. The pants were identical except the zippers.

And yes, both pair of the pants came with the mating zipper halves. With the Corkscrew mated to the Apex pant with a full zipper it's like having a 2pc riding suit. Both the jacket and the pants have the right amount of perforation.

Well I'm not sure how to ask for Apex pants that have the full 360 zipper, I guess I'd have to call. I kinda like the tourmaster pants because they have a waist/length sizing. I got the 36/30 size and they fit about perfect. If I got a 36 in the Moto GP they most likely will be too long. Another thing I got the mating zipper with the Corkscrew jacket, but no mating half with the Tourmaster pants. Perhaps I can call New Enough to ask about a zipper that would mate to the pants?? I dunno. BTW I'm 5'9" 205 lbs.

Well this is frustrating me to no end!! First off the "easiest" route would be to get a mating zipper for the pants and mate it to the jacket. Well I took it to a tailor, they couldn't find one. Spent a whole day online looking for a mating zipper. Nothing. My guess is they are custom made for Tourmaster- and Tourmaster doesn't want to talk to you about it. So that's out!! Ok next is getting the mating half of the zipper from the jacket ( have that) and mating it to the pants. This honestly looks like it would ruin the integrity of the pants, you'd have to basically tear them apart to do it. What's even weirder is the zippers- as well as being totally different- are a totally different size. ( one is 30" the other is 34") Major bummer too is I can't find any receipts to send either back to New Enough. However if I had my druthers I'd keep the pants, they fit me perfectly. The jacket is ok, however the sleeves are too long. So just sell the jacket and get a tourmaster jacket then........I considered it but honestly, I don't like any of their jackets. So in closing don't ASSUME you can order two differant jacket/pants and get the mating zippers to fit. Not sure what I'm gonna do here.

tourmaster!!
