Default MotoGP Apex pants

A buddy and I ordered some MotoGP Apex pants since we both have MotoGP jackets. Both jackets have 360 zippers, so we wanted to mate the zippers on the pants to the jackets. He ordered a size 36 and I ordered a size 38. What we found when they arrived is that his had a 360 zipper, while mine had an 8". We compared them and his are the Apex pant, but they were made in Apr 04. Mine were made in Aug 06. I searched for an ad and found that the ad said they only had the 8" zipper, so MotoGP must have changed these over the years.

I am trying to swap mine for a pair with the long zipper (if they have one) from Motorcyclecloseouts. If anyone else is getting these to mate to a MotoGP jacket be aware that they zipper config changed over the years.

The pants are awesome though - very heavy and lots of padding. Even my wife commented on how thick the leather was. I hope they can swap out my pair for an older one. They look to be very well made.

In the event they cannot, can anyone tell me if the MotoGP Corkscrew jacket zipper (360 zipper) will mate to the 360 zipper on the Joe Rocket Blaster pants?

I wear the MotoGP Corkscrew zipped to the JR Blaster pants, but I had to have some work done by a tailor.

Basically, the pants come with both sides of the zipper (so does the jacket for that matter). I took my MotoGP jacket to the tailor along with the zipper half from my Blaster pants. For $8 the tailor sewed the zipper to the jacket, positioning the JR zipper half so that both the JR and original MotoGP zippers can still be used if/when I get a pair of MotoGP pants.

Damn I bought those same pants in 34 and got the 360. Glad I actually got the 360 too.

Well I picked up two pair, one for me and one for a riding buddy, and I got sz38 and he got sz36. He really needed a 34, so he offered to let me have the sz36 and I tried them on and they fit. That pair has the zipper, so I'm all set. Motorcyclecloseouts does not do refunds, but now I have a $200 credit from there so I can get some luggage for those long road trips.

So my riding 'suit' is MotoGP Corkscrew jacket, MotoGP Apex pant, and Oxtar TCS boots. I put a Knox back protector in the jacket for some extra protection.

Here's a pic of it all.

Didn't your jacket come with a 360 degree zipper and it's mating half? If it comes down to it, you could always have that other half stitched to the pants.

I wear a size 38 in waist, what size should I get? A size down?

The 38 fit me, but the 36 fit better. I wear a 38 waist in jeans...
