i have icon motorhead. i have no gripes about it.
can't say anything about the helmet bro, i've got a shoei.
i like the look of the timax2 you got, where did you get it?
also, what gloves did you order? i have the tarmac 2 gloves, which i do NOT recommend. they are too thing and will not protect in the event of an accident. i want to get the merc long gloves. guess i'm too lazy to place that order. *jinx*
Disclaimer: I've never owned any Icon gear, so all that follows is from what I've read or heard.
Icon has the reputation of making gear that looks good, but may not hold up in a get-off. There seem to be many reports of gloves and jackets coming apart at the seams or material wearing through much too easily. Plus jackets seem to be cut to fit loose like casual wear rather than snug for better protection. A snug fitting jacket will help keep the armor where it will actually protect the intended body parts. Most positive comments about Icon helmets are the graphics.
YMMV

Depends on your build...if you have somewhat of an upper body the leathers may work for you...if you are a wimp like me with no chest..not so good Icon Textiles run very different from their leather jackets also...every textile I try on feels like I'm going to Hulk out of it...go figure
As far as the lids go, I just got my 2nd Icon helmet the other day. I like them and they fit my melon well
All I have ever owned is a pair of their gloves. They came apart at the seems after only a couple months of regular use. I would classify them as being a crappy quality for a fashion glove, let alone a piece of motorcycle gear.
i have their domain perimeter helmet. Lookin to upgrade to a scorpian. If i'm riding at night it fogs up at stop lights if i dont open the shield which gets pretty annoying. also from stationary 3 ft drop i cracket the outer shell at the rear vent and broke the little handle thing off. now part of the vent/aerodynamic body kit in the rear sticks out because it was only held in place by double sided tape and a tiny screw that broke off.

+1000 on that , gloves came apart on me , I had a jacket I had to so the seams back together on , and the seams around the foam inside my helmet yeah they all feel apart halfway through the first season I wore it , YUCK say's me
I have Icon helmet gloves and boots, went with joe rocket for my jacket. Anyway I am PLEASED with the quality of their products so far. I have had tarmac and Timax gloves for over a year and they are still like brand new , no stiching coming apart no nothing. Same goes for the boots and helmet. I have found the quality to be good. In fact I like the Tarmac gloves because they are thin, they give me a lot of feel. Again my helmet is tight I switched out the visor, No fogging, all the vents work, visor is tight and I can ride at any speed with it up etc..
There are some people on here who do not like Icon period, and they love to come out with all their "stories" of how bad the products are when someone ask.

Let me get this right, You thought Icon is crap when your gloves came apart after a couple of months, then you have an Icon jacket & Icon helmet your complaining about.
Why in the hell do you keep buying there products?

Icon Field Armor Series seems pretty solid. I use the shorts and knee/shin armors under jeans for street riding and commuting. Knee/shin armors held up well in a <15mph lowside and no one can tell you're wearing either pieces of gear.

The same thing with my Mainfram Halo, fogged up within 1 minute every night ...IN ARIZONA. Fit was good, looked great, but fogging drove me to replace with Suomy after a month. The Suomy was twice the price, but three times the helmet.

I have a timax 2 textile jacket and it is working just fine for me so far. I haven't put it through any crashes though, knock on wood. I got it half way through riding season last year so far so good.

I can't seem to find any reviews of the field armor shorts. Would they actually make a difference if you landed on your ass?

I got the old version of the Icon Daytona jacket. It seems to be built well. Thick leather and all. I haven't had a get off yet, so I've got no idea how it would hold up then. I don't have any fear of it though.
EDIT- it's been a long time since I checked, but I'm 99% certain the armor is CE certified also.

Not sure. "Stretch aramid chassis... It’s a thick, durable, stretchy fabric and feels like it would do a good job with abrasion resistance." Comment on Newenough.com, +1. I wouldn't recommend it for sport/highway riding though.
