Default Warning newb question...

probably easily answered though... well i have an icon mainframe skull helmet and i bought a mirror shield for it cuz i was tired of all the glare i get when coming home from work in the afternoon... now my question is how do i remove the clear one and put the new one on... i tried it myself but i was a lil scared of breaking the shield or the little parts that moves the shield up and down...

never tried it with an icon, but with my shoei it takes me 30 seconds.

see if it's the same, this is what i do:

1. open the visor all the way
2. on either end you'll see a clip that you slide down away from the pivot point, slide that down on one end, that side should pop out
3. slide down on the other side, should pop out
4. slide down on one side's clip/tab and position the visor as if it's completely open/up on the helmet
5. once you've popped it in, let clip/tab slide back to original position
6. repeat steps 4/5 for other side.

you should be good to go.
again, these are the steps for my shoei. never tried it with my HJC and i've never had an icon to try it on.

good luck.

i don't know how it works on that helmet-

BUT- i can tell you for sure that the old visor has to come off before the new one goes on.

If you can't figure it out, raise the shield up all the way and post a pic of the mechanism on one side.

go to www.rideicon.com and go to your helmet. there should be a little camera icon in the lower left of the screen now (you may have to click on the dot on the visor first) and it shows a video of how to get it off...

basically, there's a "trigger" or lever just beneath the side of the visor when fully open. Pull that towards the front of the helmet and there you go. Im assuming you do the same thing on both sides and you're good to go.
