Default A* SMX-Plus question

Hi there i got a pair of Alpinestars SMX plus for christmas, and i noticed that it sweaks a lot. Just wondering if anyone else with this boot have the same problem and if there a way of getting rid of it.

Lithium chain lube from your local bicycle store...or just settle with KY, but thats water soluble.
Welcome to the freaky squeaky world of the SMX

Serious about the lube BTW

I tried liquid soap everywhere which was the recommended remedy. No joy, still squeaks. I just live with it. You'll never be able to sneak up on anyone with your boots on.

Dam, my SMX+ where squeaking so bad it was embarrassing, especially walking down the halls and into the office. So after reading some suggestions on this board, I sprayed under the ankle guards the only lube I had in the house at the time. Chain Wax. I'm not sure how safe it is on leather or anything, but I have not heard a peep out of my boots for a while (at least a couple of months).

My SMX boots squeaked a little when I first got them, but got louder and louder over several months until I couldn't even hear myself think. My co-workers could hear me walking in on the other side of the building.

I finally got fed up with it one day, and decided to find out what was making so much noise. It was coming from the plastic plates over the ankle area rubbing on the leather. I was at work and didn't have many options to deal with it, but I had the little bottle of silicone that came with my Arai helmet with me. So I squeezed some silicone between the plates and leather, propped the boots upside down for an hour or so to let the silicone get all the way down the plates and they haven't squeaked since then.

same problem here, took care of it with WD40. Then a month later the velcro would not stick any more, so I took them back to Cycle Gear and traded them for the SMX-R. No hassle ,no questions asked.
