Default 5'11 @ 185 - A* jacket - 42 or 44?

No local shop here that carries A*. My chest measures exactly 42". The only jacket I currently have is a Joe Rocket mesh jacket in size L and it fits nicely.

Anywho, for those of you with a similar build, can you comment on the 42 or 44 sizing?

I am 200 lbs at about 6' 2" and I take a 44 in A* jackets. My chest measures almost 44 inches. In your case, I would probably go with the 42.

If you are ordering from NewEnough.com, they have a good return policy as well in case it doesn't fit, plus pretty accurate sizing info.

They recommend ordering a 1/2" larger than your actual chest size. Only thing that scares me is that I am exactly 42". I lift a lot, so I have somewhat of a bodybuilders physique, I'm "cutting" right now so my chest is even smaller than it usually is, probably a 42.5 or 43" a good majority of the year. Im also around 190-195pounds often as well.

Any idea if the sleeve lengths are a huge difference between 42 and 44? Also, how does your 44 fit you? Pretty snug?

+1 on newenough.

I would get smaller...I've found that my gear stretches over time. I usually get a size smaller than I used to now.

Just about your same size. Go with the 42.

Besides the leather stretching out, the armor won't move around either.

44 is a "street fit", but won't offer as much protection.

My A* jacket took a good bit of riding to break in. Dainese, not so much.

I'm 5'10" 235 lbs with a 49" chest, 34" waist. Ordering a jacket online is scary.

I'n the same size as Notalent(no body builder here) and I tried on my co-workers Cortech GX Sport Jacket size L (44 I think?) Without the liner it felt like it fit just right..maybe a smidge long in the sleeves which is what you want right? I mean if you are reaching for the bars the jacket sleeves are going to pull back just a bit anyways correct?

Seems like a pretty good heavy duty jacket for the price
