Default Track leather pants or full leather suit?

I currently have an A* Stunt vented leather jacket, and am considering the A* leather track pants, which would zip to the jacket. Some say this could qualify as a 2 piece track suit, but others say not because the zipper isn't a full 360 degrees (probably a few inches on the front waist would be unzipped). I would like to enroll in some track schools in the future and am wondering if this would be a problem? Is it better to just shell out for a full 1 or 2 piece suit and use my current jacket just for casual street riding?

It's a 3/4 inch zipper? Some tracks will let it fly, you'd have to check or take your chances. You can always buy a new zipper and have a tailor put it on. Buying a new 2 piece just for the zipper is silly.

Check the rules for the club you are going to the track with. Around here Nesba and STT allow 2 piece suits, at least in the beginner/intermediate groups. I believe most just want more than the 10" connect in the back.

I also don't know of any pants that have a zipper starting and ending at the fly. They all seem to come up a little short in the front. All = A* and my First Gear Pilots.

I have A* SMX air flow jacket, and A8 track pants and have taken them to the track with no problems... Yeah they don't go zipper to zipper but they are pretty damn close... 5-7 inches maybe in the front.

I wear the perf leather Stunt Jacket and got my Track pants last week. I bought it from a place that organizes alot of track days, and they know I am interested in said track days. I think they woulda said something. There is a a few inches in the front left unzipped, basically enough to allow a break for the fly and a bit of buffer. It would be a rude awaking for me if they were not allowed on the track.

I'd get a two-piece leather suit.

Then you can use just the jacket and regular looking leather pants when you go on errands....and the full suit when cruising/racing.

Using just the jacket of a 2 piece isn't too realistic since they are usually pretty short for some reason...

I wear the jacket of my 2 piece Teknic without the pants, and it does just fine.

As for the first question, call the organizers and ask them what they require.

The Alpinestars and Joe Rocket two piece suits have incredibly short jackets if you aren't wearing the pants. They both like came up to my ribs almost. So I am now shifting to a leather jacket and track pants to zip onto...

My jacket is actually a bit too big for me, I know that's bad but it does cover me and my jeans.

I was at the same crossroads... I just got a one piece... I already had my jacket for the street (an A* TZ1) and I got a good deal on a one piece.

It is very comfortable and I def do not regret the purchase. I paid only slightly more than the A* track pants I was looking at.
