Default Took care of the last chink in my armor.

Well, after buying my Oxtar boots yesterday, I decided to finally take care of the final chink in my armor - summer weight riding pants. I already had heavy leather overpants, buy they are intolerable in temps over 75. No more riding in jeans for me - now I can be a full-fledged Gear Nazi.

Here's my inventory to date:

Tourmaster Cortech Magnum leather jacket (winter)
FirstGear Tracker leather jacket (mid-weight spring/fall)
FirstGear Meshtex jacket (summer)
FirstGear Rainman jacket

FirstGear SportTour leather overpants
FirstGear Meshtex mesh pants
EMS rain overpants

Firstgear Meshtex summer gloves
Firstgear Dakota winter gloves
Oxtar Explorer boots
Schuberth Concept flip-front helmet
Misc: balaclava, glove liners, reflective vest, sunglasses, etc.

Damn, motorcycling is expensive!

I too was going to go for the First Gear mesh pants. Looked good on spec.s on the web. But when I looked at them at a dealer I was nonplussed. The armor is squid-whimpy. The only hip padding was 3 thin foam pockets covered in mesh (right where you don't need or want it.

Went for these instead;

CE Armor and a more quality product.... I think.

I have a pair of those Mesh Tex pants and Bob is right about the padding, they do have pockets in side for CE armor though.I do like them for hot days and have been told that they hold up well in a crash.

Have crashed in the FG MeshTex Pants. 50mph, no rash, knee fine, hip sore a few days.

Good to know; thanks for crash-testing them for me!

Did you put the optional CE hip armor in? I'm undecided on that at the moment.
