Question Tail Bag, Rack, or Saddle Bags - How do they effect the ride?

I am desparately trying to decide on the type of luggage I want. I need water protection and some room for carrying change of clothes, shoes, work items, and little more. What keeps coming to mind is how will it affect the bike's handling?? Due to my bikes gas tank, no tank bag. Just to obtrusive for me. Because of the tail pipes being just under the seat, I dunno about true "tail bags" either. (FZ6) I like the Givi hard case for a tail rack but it sure appears as though it would catch some serious wind or really alter the bike's center of gravity with its placement so far back and above the seat. I dont want to take away from the sport look either. Any comments on saddle or tail luggage and the bikes handling would be greatly appreciated.

These folks make an interesting prouct:

I don't think it would effect handling much as it's right behind you.
There's another product that locks into place instead of the rear seat, but I can't think of it at the moment.

Here's another one:

I have the luggage locker, and it is a good piece of kit. Holds quite a bit of stuff. I didn't notice any balance problems.
