nice vent in each boot, velcro closes over zipper, which has a velcro tongue so the zipper cannot unzip when velcro is closed over your ankle and leg. I picked them up for $100 before tax. the boots are very comfortable for walking and not hot like military boots. The soles are strong and I "think" oil resistant.
