Having a 250+ degrees is near the warning light time. Maybe too much water/antifeeze mixture. Or there could be an air bubble somewhere in the cooling system. These bikes are just known to run extremely warm. Mine runs 210 - 220 at times now in traffic and its the winter. But when I move, it can go down to 180 with no problems. I just try not to look at it or set it where the temp will not show.

Hehehe..I tried the ignore it solution, but the damn thing switches to temp at 250 anyways!!

This winter it's been staying at perfectly reasonable temps. Mid 220's in the middle of the day in traffic, aprox. 180 at 75mph. I'd guess the air temp was about 70ish degrees.

In my spare time Im working on some air ducts and heatshields to test out. I'll show you guys some pics once I've got some stuff built and tested. I asked around about those fins shown earlier in the thread and those work by lowering the air pressure on the outside of the radiator allowing the fans to blow more air across them.. that's what I was told anyways.

Also, switched to synthetic so that it is more resistant to break down with that kind of heat. So that offers me some reassurance.
