I read somewhere that an rc51 with metzeler tires is some what rare. If so why. Also are the moriwaki pipes any good.

I guess an RC51 with metzeler tires could be rare is because many prefer tires like michelin/dunlop/bridgestone, but i'm sure if you wanted them you can get a set with no problems assuming you have the money. Moriwaki pipes are great, i think they can be a tad bit expensive, but there are also other companies that make good pipes. Yoshimura, Akrapovic, Arrow, Sato, Arata, etc, etc. I hope the RC51 isn't your first bike...

I've gone through a couple of sets of metzeler's on my RC, and I see quite a few with them on. I've only seen one RC w/ some Moriwaki pipes but I didn't get to hear them, they do look nice though. I had a arrow system on mine just because it was on the bike when I got it, they are nice but I probably would have chosen something else myself.

Metzeler Sportec M1s are fine on a street/canyon RC, especially for the price (~ $200-210).

Yeha stay the hell away from the rc if its your first twin unless you got balls. This bike aint no joke. Its either pushing really hard or pulling real hard, takes alot of finesse to be smooth on this thing.

No I've been racing an Aprilia rsvr for the last two years and dropped a valve and roached my motor at Brainerd last month. I am going two buy an RC from my dealer. It's a 2000 with 4200 miles with the moriwaki pipes on it. I've always wanted an RC But when your buddy own's an Aprilia, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki dealership it's pretty hard not to buy from him. I love my mille and am sure the RC is just as good if not better. Iwish it was an 02 though. I am going to rebuild my motor for next season and the RC would be my everyday bike.
