Default Just got my first RC and have some ?????

Let me start off by saying.........WOW! What a bike!........
That said, this is my first Vtwin and first Honda. Just a couple questions to see if this is normal.
1. Is the Vtwin supposed to sound a little "whiney" for lack of a better word? The exhaust sounds phenominal and I know it isn't the chain, but there is a little whine that come from the engine.
2. When releasing the clutch there is an everso slight "clicking" sound. I haven't noticed it too much while down shifting but when first starting out in first I can hear it.
3. and finally, at risk of sounding like a squid.... is only one head light supposed to be on when using low beams?

Please do not get me wrong... I LOVE my bike and by no means am I complaining... just curious. I never bought a used bike before.

That whine is the delightful some of the gear driven cams. Saweeeet!!!!

The clicking sound is prolly just the chain tightening up. Remember, you're riding a torque monster now.

Yes, just one headlight on for low beam. I just ride with high beams on all the time now.

Enjoy!

Oh. yeah.. just a couple more things.... on the instrument cluster, what is the FI or is is F1 for, next the the low fuel light?
Does anyone know how much HP the stock 03 RC51 puts out?
And does anyone have a manual they would be willing to part with? I would pay for it of course.

Thanks, Hams... actually the clicking almost sounds like it is coming from up my the forks.... is there a sensor or some kind of modual that is in that area that may be making the noise?

There's this thing called a "Flapper" inside the 'nose' intake. At certain speeds, I believe, the flapper flaps close or open, limiting or allowing more air to go into the airbox. I believe it's for noise control for the green peace folks. When did they start engineering motorcycles?

Try this site, they have some mods and the removal of the 'flapper' mod is listed. http://rc51.org/

FI light is Fuel Injection. comes on goes off = good ........ stays on = bad

2002-2005 RC's make around 125 stock horsepower.

I was love it when the low beam question comes out. Now your job is to explain that to everybody that tells you that "one of your headlights is out".

At night too? I ride with my high beams on only during daylight hours. You'll probably blind on-coming traffic by leaving it on when night riding.

Yeah, I'll stop if too many drivers flash back at me. Otherwise, I want to be seen. Not to be a bunghole, but I could care less if they feel a little discomfort for my safety.

OK, I have been riding alot and I have noticed while in stop and go traffic or the local cruise hang outs, my legs feel alot of heat coming from my bike. Is this normal? Does all RC's get so hot? Again, I am not complaining, just curious... don't want anything to be wrong. I was thinking that since the radiators are on either side next to my legs this is why, my gixxer didn't have this feature. How do you check your coolant level? This would be the only thing that I haven't checked on my bike yet.
And thanks again for everyone's advice and help. It is really appreciated!

I know, I had to explain it about a dozen times to all of my family members that have seen my bike so far.
