Some problems we may face

Alright ladies, I was discussing everything that we've talked about to my business law class. Things like the hello kitty, going non profit and also the website. It was pointed out to me the serious problems that could occur by us not getting official permission from the creators of Hello Kitty. We are infringing on some serious copyright laws. It could get nasty if we don't. Which may include raising the prices of all the stickers and sending the creators a cut of every sticker that is made. The friend that made the stickers could also be in some serious trouble otherwise. Something to look into.

I changed the logo 30% from the original to make it legal...

No I mean I changed the logo 30% before to make it legal. However, if I need to change it more I say we just make the bows smaller and put two bows in the image, one on each ear... How does that sound? I changed it 30% before by switching the bow around to the other side of the face, changing the shape of the bones and deleting the Hello Kitty name.

I like the hello kitty and all....but I am REALLY digging the "charlies angels" thing Sic has going on

.....that would look AWESOME on a patch.....That I would sew on my leather for sure.
Sic-how did you do that? I can never get the color to cover like that (without a ton of work, of course!)

Either that or change the bows to Iron cross bows, and then maybe make her eyes looks bit evil, etc.

Yeah, I know it's me. My bf sent me an email saying my picture was "famous"...I couldn't see it for awhile!!! He said he picked it out right away!!!

BTW....that's my R6, his is the '03!!!

ok this is the thing.. first off if the picture IS NOT copywriten, like my "Kitty", then we are not breaking any laws.. The "kitty" that we are using, is not Hello Kitty... If it were, and it did have a copy write "c" on it, then we would be breaking the law. Only thing our kitty resembles is the "bow" and the bow isnt copywriten.. Any and all pictures that do not have a copywrite on them, are free game. As to my "kitty" and our "Posse Pussy kitty" No need to worry, I'll actually call my lawyer in the a.m. and ask. I'll let you know....

Alright, it was just something we were talking about so I was slightly worried about it all. Good thing a lot of you also know about the laws of copyrights. Ask your attorney and verify it all.

ali if you want to go non profit with this you need to go through the IRS as they are the ones that regulate it and have the laws.It's a lot of laws that can be downloaded from there web site.
