thanks guys I usually tuck mine inside the helmet, cuz if I dont I have huge knots in the back of my head that I cant brush out. My bangs are getting screwed up big time
Leaving your hair out all the time can also cause split ends. I put my hair in a twist with a french comb (just a plain one) under my helmet. Not only does this keep it safe & out of the way, but I also have a handy way to comb out my hair when I take my helmet off, with the french comb.

why would it cause split ends?
I had to get a size bigger helmet just so my hair can fit in there. If I leave my hair out, the helmet is wobbly and moves around, especially at higher speeds than 100 mph

I found that leaving my hair out to fly around and get whipped by the wind caused split-ends. When I first started riding on the street, I lost about an inch off the length of my hair in the back from wearing it in a ponytail out the back of my helmet. I started wearing it inside my helmet after that.
My helmet feels loose if I put it on without my hair up too. When you are trying on helmets to buy just make sure you have your hair the way you normally would have it when riding. You definitely don't want a loose fitting helmet.

Depends on how long your hair is... mine is down to my waist and I keep it tucked in my jacket or in a high bun right under the edge of the helmet.
^I wouldn't buy a helmet to fit your hair inside it, that's just not safe plus it's irritating and looks worse when you're done riding. I guess it really depends on how long it is. You can buy one of those leather straps you clip on around a braid, but I just keep it in my jacket. If it's too short to stay in, I suggest a silk scarf or a bandana. Good luck!
