Politics & ReligionWell Since every damn forum has one. Might as well leave it out there. This place is loosely moderated and should not be entered if you're weak of heart.
Personally it would suit me fine for P&R to become just 'P' and no 'R'. Seems that the same people just want to start a thread and bash religion. If you really dislike <insert group here>, why not go to a place where they meet and try having an honest discussion, or if groups intimidate you, find someone that calls themselves part of that group and try talking to them.
P&R has traditionally been mostly P and little R.
Some people here are trying to get away from all of these threads talking about what should be talked about in P&R and getting back to actual subject matter.
If that offends you, you're free to simply not read them.

I'm actually fed up with these threads:
All <insert group here> are dumbasses.
Reading between the lines, that is exactly what this thead entails.
See above.

I like to discuss and debate as much as the next guy, but these threads serve to purpose other than to give the haters a place to vent.
If that's how you perceive it, that's on you. Alternatively, you could simply debate the actual subject of the thread.

As someone else posted, why didn't the OP post 'Do Christians Deny Reality?' The title he chose shows his bias, and predictably, brings out those that love to mock this group.
One should not be surprised by a controversial title in a section that's devoted to controversial subjects.
Edit: We also have titles such as "EU to select President...Antichrist?" which are clearly meant to charge up emotions, and "What caused all this mess?" which make assumptions.
As mentioned before, instances in which Christians have, in fact, ignored reality have been brought up multiple times in previous threads, so there's no need to rehash them.
Should one not start a thread entitled "Why did Muslims attack the WTC?" After all, there's an assumption in the title that Muslims did, in fact, attack the WTC. The answer is "of course not," because that fact has already been established, so there's no need to rehash it.
Edit: In the case of "What caused all this mess?" there is the assumption that there is a mess.

I expect some neanderthal to post a jpeg of Jesus riding a dinosaur at any moment now (as we have seen in past threads regarding Christianity).
Quit being a wuss and get out more folks - there's all sorts of people you can be bigoted against - in person even! The world beyond your monitor awaits you /sarcasm
lol I never knew there was a picture of that... But I guess I should of

So you are denying the fact that you started the thread to piss people off? Why not be more specific? What realities are Christians ignoring? Maybe that would be a good start if you want to know something.
As it stands, the thread topic is really too general for you to get any worthwhile answers but you weren't looking for them anyway, were you?

Of course he wasn't.
I made one...one...thread about the EU's selecting a president and wondered if the first president elected could be the Antichrist.
I thought maybe some believers might enjoy discussing it.
But there are not many believers here, so it turned/devolved into what it has become now.
I'm not sorry I posted it though. It's led to some good debate I think.
Anyway...

I care because if I have to listen to Christians publicly try to force religion into our towns, states, and federal government then I have just as much right to publicly voice my disapproval. If they speak out saying that we need to keep "under god" in the Pledge of Allegiance, then I have just as much right to speak out. If they make the claims that this country was founded on Christian values, then I have just as much right to speak out. I could go on and on....
If they would stay in their hole in the ground and practice their religion in private I wouldn't have a problem. But when they try to force it on everyone, that's when I start to care.
**NOTE** I was one of those that was born and raised Catholic and in the church. It's not like I don't know anything about them and are just complaining because I don't understand them.

Send me all your money then. You know it has 'In God We Trust' on it, right? I'd hate to 'force' my belief on you. What a burden it must be waking every morning and saying the pledge and carrying all those coins and bills with that printed/stamped on it.
Seriously?!? How often do(es) you or anyone say the pledge anymore? Are you in any way required to? I only hear it at an occasional sporting event, following by the team saying a prayer. Hmm...guess you should stay away from sporting events too while you are at it...
I used to remember when every TV station signed off with the national anthem. No more. My daughter is in school and does not say the pledge - it isn't prevalent anymore. Sad.
Until there is a voting majority that don't want the things in place that you are upset about, I'm afraid you're screwed. It's a big world; I'm sure there is something in it for everyone. I hear the Middle East has a low incidence of Christians, maybe you could relocate. I'm sure they would not 'force' their beliefs on you.
Feel free to argue all you want - it is your right.
Do send me that money though. Seriously...

Seems like iron can stop a diety in his tracks......
Judges 1:19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
Marrying your half sister is ok.......
Genesis 20:12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
come on believers you have to answer this question, if god answers prayers and performs miracles all the time why has he never gave any amputee their limbs back???
Prayers are just false hope and a complete waste of time. And again, it's one of those things that's impossible to prove/disprove so Christians are able to keep arguing the validity of them.

Have you made it clear to your family that you feel that making a request for their health and safety once in a while is a "complete waste of time"?

but seeing how no human has ever got their limbs back from praying for them, I think that's 100% proof there is no god.
but I see what you are saying and you're right. they'll just discredit that and say well susie jane in oregon was dying of cancer and then the doctors said her cancer was all gone. because she prayed every day it would
so I guess everyone that prayes all their lives for limbs to come back are just unlucky?
ahh the religious...sad lost souls that need to cling to things like a bible to feel whole with their lives..
