I guess I'll put myself out there to get hated upon ...

I don't feel Obama was in the wrong at all with his speech, he said what he had to say about the shooting, which in all honesty there isn't much to say, yes it's horrible, yes we feel for the soldiers families but that's it, we could sob all day long but that's not going to do anything positive for anybody. Obama expressed what little there is to be expressed and then went on with his scheduled speech.

Yes it's horrible, yes I myself was angry just like everyone else but you can't dwell on it too long, all you can do is to do your best to make sure it's not repeated.

China 145 300 484 734* 891* 1,106* 1,399**
In 1990 the GDP was 5.80 trillion....and a 1 trillion of that was the manufacturing sector. Assuming you are using adjusted dollars, 17.2%.

In 2008 the manufacturing sector was 1.83 trillion of a 14.24 trillion GDP 12.6%
http://www.data360.org/dsg.aspx?Data...ge=2&count=100

Now lets look at population....

1990 ~248 million people (census year)
2008 ~305 million.....

uh oh...

While we are at it

1990 Government spending 2.08 of 5.08 trillion 35.8% of the GDP
2009 Government spending 6.45 trillion of 14.24 45.29% of GDP

For reference the Federal Budget was:
3.06 trillion in 1990
3.00 trillion in 2009 (Bush budget, no wars, TARP, any of that mess)

So I guess we should all just work for the government. Looks like nearly the only safe job in town. BOTH of my little brothers are out of work atm. One who just left the military (Aviation Electrician) and the other with a Business Degree. I know a LOT of people out of work. Engineers, programmers, tradesmen, industrial production, construction, pretty much across the board.

CAT who is an industrial giant rehired a whopping 5,500 of 22,000 it laid off, and permanently released 2,500. Chysler and GM exist at the pleasure of the US Government.

But hey, the economy is improving, right.

Yeah I keep up, w/o the embellishments that you feel the need to include.

He gave folding chairs, an air mattress, some shelves, and a steamer to a neighbor who had almost no furniture. He also bought her a spanish language koran and when she told him she read english, he returned the next day with an english version...so what?

Almost all mass muderers plan for the deed, we always find out there's been a slow rumble towards it.

You said he was an alleged muslim convert and stated it was very possible he was a jihadist, none of which has panned out. All I did was point out the fact that you were painting a picture with a huge brush and here you go doing it again.

I think he was just another candy ass that was afraid to deploy. He had no issue with taking the training and rank the military offered, but when it was time for the rubber to meet the road (like he was going to be doing patrols...yeah right) he pussed out and snapped.

That he was Muslim is a coincidence, if he was a Christian no one would be saying that he was a fundamental extremist, and Christians have a MUCH bloodier history overall then Muslims, crusades, conquests (North/South America), the Inquisition, Charlemagnian conversion.

as far as the rest of your post...look up "This is what Belton did to me"
So you're willing to give him the benefit of the doubt? How nice of you.

Poor guy, he couldn't help it. Obviously something we did drove a perfectly sane follower of the religion of peace and love to do something uncharacteristic for people of his faith. He just all of a sudden snapped, it wasn't planned at all.

Yeah, I see it now. How silly of me...

The funny thing here is that all of the people who would be crucifying the guy as a right-wing gun nut if he were a Christian are rushing to his defense. Yep, there's some racism going on, but it's not only from those who are (rightly, IMHO) pointing out the trends of Muslim murderers.

Of course.

The media have everything against Christians, because it makes news when they find dirt, and also to be a Christian, you have to change your lifestyle.

Anyway, back on topic.

You can't be a "gun nut" in the Army. Weapons are the IMPORTANT part of the job.

I think LDS was getting to the point of if this had happened outside a military base...by a civilian.

Who's rushing to anyone's defense?

Two psychiatrists, who had worked closely with Hasan when he was training at Walter Reed, told NPR that the suspect could be belligerent and would sometimes belittle colleagues without provocation. The two asked not to be identified because the military had ordered them not to talk to reporters.

The psychiatrists also said Hasan once gave a bizarre lecture to the medical staff in which he said the Quran teaches that infidels should have their heads cut off and set on fire.

"When I heard the news about Hasan, honestly, my first thought was, 'That makes a lot of sense. That completely fits the person I knew,' " one of the psychiatrists told NPR.
At Fort Hood, Mourning And A Search For Answers : NPR

By the above it looks to be a combination of a megalomaniac and Islam.

But, like I said until this guy wakes up and is interrogated, the Islam convert and an act of terrorism,...it's all conjecture.

...he says, reading from the Obama book of scriptures written in November 2009...

We certianly don't want to make the Muslims feel uncomfortable.
