Default Prop 8 aftermath in California

So it seems some of the protests after the passing of Prop 8 are getting a bit hairy, or at least are threatening to get that way. I read up on the whole thing here Michelle Malkin » Unhinged losers: Prop. 8 opponents threaten Mormons and Catholics. Yeah I know, a lot of you won't like the source but work with me here.

So what do y'all think about it? Is "burning the f---ing chuches to the ground!" or stripping the LDS Church of their religious status a bit extreme?

The govt should not be recognizing ANY religious status in the first place.

It doesn't matter.

Good, 3/4 of californians are apparently fucking idiots.

More than 80% of this country once supported legal lynching....I guess you favored majority rule then too?

99% of fanatics in Sierra Leone support and practice female genital mutliation.

Mob rule is not democracy, and democracy is not mob rule.

Democracy is about EQUALITY, and the premise of equality supports gay marriage.

Sad but true.

I guess the word "seperation" (as in Separation of Church and State) apparently means what ever the right wing neocons want it to mean.

These neanderthals are two clicks short of jihad.

+1.

To me, this is just religious fanatics forcing their beliefs onto another group of people. This is legislated discrimination.

Why would you take as truth a bunch of crap in someone's blog? It is some people's opinions, but is it anything of note?

Problem is measures that discriminate should not be brought up to a vote. Simple. I'm sure there's several states that, if given the opportunity, would ban Muslims from office.

Ding, ding, ding winner!

THAT is the difference between mob rule and democracy.

Mob rule = Ten people in a room (Nine men and a woman), 6 agree to kill the woman in the room, they kill her under the guise of democracy. The two who voted against it do nothing...after all...its democratic right?

Democracy = Every able bodied person in the room stands up and says "You will not kill that woman, because she has a right to life that cannot be voted away".

Remember, we called them "inalienable" rights FOR A GOOD GODDAMN REASON.

THE ONLY THING NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING. - Edmund Burke.
