Yeah, it's Cindy Sheehan. And she's already calling foul!
Cindy wouldn't be the speaker even if she did manage to unseat Pelosi. Having said that, nothing would make me happier than to see Pelosi unseated by Cindy.
You've gotten caught in the Republican spin cycle. No Obama supporter has ever described him as a savior or thought of him that way. This was an attempt to belittle his supporters as naive.
You probably didn't even realize they'd spun you, did you?
I have not gotten caught in anything. Haven't you learned that no matter how many trips you have made around the sun you still can't read my mind? (or anyone else's for that matter, even Obama supporters)
I'm not singing McCain and Palin's praises either, but since I obviously don't share your zeal for Obama I must be one of them racist Pubs I guess.
You know this guy named Schmidt told me that 1/3 of Pubs are racist! It has to be true because I read it on teh interwebz.
Oh, and are you sure about that statement that no Obama supporters see him as a savior? Not even one?
Hmmm... I'd have to say that in his circles Farrakhan has people that listen to his opinions, and follow wherever he leads. Is it concievable that more than one person on this planet believes as he does? Absolutely. Looks like there was a very large audience there listening to him, so he must hold some credibility with that crowd.
My words an attempt to belittle Obama supporters by calling them naive? Pot calling kettle, buddy. You said in another post that 33.3% of all Pubs are racist, whether they are openly practicing racists or not.
I think you need to take your meds as the good doctor told you...

Oh, and Schmidt - since you are trying to tell me that my comment was portraying Obama supporters as naive and that it was belittling them, what do you have to say about this in your sig?
"You're not still voting for Chicken-John, are ya?" <--not belittling anyone in the least
I guess freedom of speech is fine and dandy as long as it doesn't offend you. Don't call someone out for something you yourself are doing.
I will anxiously await your justification for why my comment was out of place while yours is completely innocent...
BTW, love the avatar.

I didn't say you were spinning. I said you'd been spun.
These people who "think Obama is a savior" are an imaginary concoction of Republican spinners. The people you're "not one of" don't exist.
In either event, though, your reaction seems pretty over the top.

I smell
So in one thread you basically call 33% of the Republican party racist
Then in another you use the term 'cracker', which last time I looked is a derogatory term for a white person
Then you have the nerve to say that you see no folly in your claim that 1/3 of a political party is in some fashion racist
Then you say I belittled Obama supporters by saying that I do not see him as the savior that some people do. If that truly offended you, your skin is too thin to play in the P&R forums...
Yet - you have named 1/3 of the Republican party racist, and you have a jab at McCain in your sig (you never justified how that was not 'belittling', you just said I was being 'over the top'. Tell me the difference, sir.)
You took my statement about persons following Obama literally and said that there are NO Obama supporters that believe that, then run and hide when I post a link. Farrakhan has his own followers - he's not some guy on the sidelines with an opinion, people follow his lead)
I am now to believe that Republicans spun the statements made by Farrakhan? Are you ashamed to let the man have an opinion? I could care less how you (or he) feels about Obama, but it is pretty pompous to think you have all the answers and then shy away when someone points out a fact.
Furthermore, you make it a habit of finding some small point to pick with every post that you don't agree with.
I called the Republican Women's party 'bored housewives', and you took exception? Give me a break. You tried to label me as sexist for saying it. For what they did they don't deserve my respect, but you can email them and if they have grievances with my comment I'd be glad to discuss it directly with them. I'm sure they are all grown women and don't need you policing the internet for them or defending their honor.
The only spinning I have been subjected to is your web of

FWIW: I am absolutely CONVINCED that WAY more than 1/3 of the GOP is racist to its rotten core. But I have NO data to back that up at all, its just from 29 years of watching the GOP do what it does best: Transfer wealth upward.
In fairness, a lot of dems are racist too, in ways that are often surprising (i.e. - "reverse" racism).

I guess I mean to say that America is still full of racism. I have seen my own racist tendencies affect my actions, though I do my best not to act on them.
And I guess its no surprise that this carries over into politics too.
I agree that both parties are flawed, and like Dakota I truly hope for humanity's sake that racism is not as rampant as we would believe.
My position is that most politicians are elitists, and once in office get down to business lining their pockets with cash and serving the interests of themselves and their friends. I believe that most take liberties with their positions at the expense of the taxpayers, all the while breaking promises they used to get elected in the first place.
I have no facts to back that up, but I don't think many would argue this being the case. I'm sure there are some good souls in every political party that truly mean well and try and represent the will of people who put them in office, but I'd say those are a minority.
