Default Obama threatens tv stations for posting NRA ads

Saturday, September 27, 2008 8:10 PM

By: Newsmax staff

The Obama camp has been threatening television and radio stations to keep them from airing anti-Obama ads.

The NRA says Obama's camp are sending out these "intimidating cease and desist letters" to cable operators and television stations, threatening their FCC licenses if they run the ads.

I guess it hurts

And before you start talking about newsmax not being a reliable source, here's a link to fox news tearing apart all of the fact checkers that agreed with Obama

FOXNews.com - Analysis: Fact-Checkers Fall Short in Criticizing NRA's Anti-Obama Ads - Opinion

Yeah, but they're only reliable if their spin is the same as shah's

I did not come here to discuss how much you have in common with Paris Hilton.

All the information in that article is verifiable:
Barack Obama on Gun Control

If you read the article, they also referenced FactCheck.org for their info, which is an impartial site attacked by both the right and left - which means they're doing something correctly.

Your bias is a forcefield against common sense.

Proper link: Newsmax.com – Obama Wants NRA Ads Banned

I don't like Newsmax. But the info in the source article regarding his stance on gun control does check out.

Christ.....don't you guys ever open your eyes? I read that thing. I think it's just a little firefight on the way to the White House. There are so many right-wing groups trying to trash Obama that they actually get lost in the white noise of the campaign.

It's the economy, stupid. It isn't gun control.

Wayne's just out looking for contributions.

My assessment: [Yawn].

I'm not claiming this is big news. His stance on firearms is well-documented.

I'm just verifying the source.

While maybe a minor issue, to think Obama doesn't want to restrict or outright ban firearms is foolish. He will get a fight, but the closer he ties the US to the UN, the worse it will be for ALL of us.

Good God. Another survivalist. Ever thought about Hayden Lake, ID as a place to live? You'd be among friends.

You guys kill me. Obama does NOT want to take your guns away. GIVE IT UP. He has tried placing restrictions on the type of guns that can be purchased and frankly, I agree with that. Not every type of gun needs to be available to the public.

Also, I didn't take time to read the article but the NRA has been produce false ads. If he wants to stop lies from going out, good for him. Just so you know, here is the info on the false attack ads by the NRA:

NRA Gun Ban claim FALSE

False NRA claim
