I'm with you, I would feel ethically compelled to resist a standing army on US soil, regardless of whose army that was.

That will be one of my new favorite quotes of all time.

(used to justify the divine right of kings in years past) to get their flock to obey whatever the gov't. may do in time of "emergency" i.e. suspend many if not all of our rights as was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Link? Im curious. Hadn't heard nuthin about this, despite being kinda rural. Of course, I'm not much of a church-goer either.

Me either.
I'd say Vermont has probably the most well armed civilian population of the Northern states. My 10 years there were a crash course in firearms, after being in (The peoples Republic of) Massachusetts.

Don't have one right at the moment. I either read on one of Alex Jones sites or something similar or heard it on a local radio show down here. Could've been on the Derry Brownfield Show originating out of Centertown, MO. He's been screaming about this and the NWO for at least the last 15 years. Google Derry Brownfield and you'll get his website. You can listen to his show and I believe it has archives to his old ones. The article in the other thread about the company that owns all the stock in the country had a blurb in it about the strips in new currency and how "they" can scan you and tell how much $ you're carrying. Heard about that back in the mid '90's on that show.
He's an old cattle farmer that built a radio network in Missouri to broadcast farm reports and other agri news. It's still around. I believe it's Learfield Communications.

update:
program was first talked about in May 2006. It's a FEMA program(and we all know FEMA is the shadow gov't poised to take over under DHS). KSLA ch12 out of Shreveport, LA confirmed it on Aug. 16, 2007. The chaplain for the Shreveport FD and Caddo county SD confirmed it.
google homeland security and romans 13:1 and you'll find it.
Alex Jones had it on his prisonplanet site as well.

I can't believe that there's even a possibility that Alex Jones could be right about something.

Vive le Revolucion, as the Kebeckers would say.
But don't worry 'bout us - we'll be fine. We've been shooting at imperialists from behind rocks and trees since way back. Don't know how well we'd fare against Predator drones, but ground troops would have a hell of a time.
'course, we're busy taking over the world through other means - every pint of Ben 'n' Jerry's... every brick of cheese... every box of Annie's organic pasta brings the rest of you further into our clutches.

Hey, we all have to be bilingual here. So many of the Quebecois running around.
Hell, some of them want to freakin' annex Vermont, which I think is hilarious. That'd be like the Mexican state of Sonora declaring independence from Mexico, and taking Arizona with 'em.
