Default Flip Flop Festival....

I wish I could bet on this shit.....If they would just be a bit more unwavering, they might win an election.

Actually, (I really hate to say this), he's NOW doing what he should be doing.

Not setting a firm timetable on abstract dates but talking to the people running the show who know the most in order to do what's best.

I don't see this as a negative. I'd like to, but he's starting to do what's right.

Darn. He might win!

Newsflash: Republicans mis-read article and completely fail to grasp it's significance, but remain undetered.

More than likely, you all didn't actually read the article in question because that would have been work.

I dont either, its just the hypocrisy that just makes it feel dirty. He knew that from the beginning, its the bs that sticks in my craw.

He is proving to be quite adept at flip flopping. Much to the chagrin of liberals, he has already flopped on FISA, now this. MOst of us saw this coming, he is just pandering to whoever will write his ticket.

Hell, McCain does the same thing. Nothing new here. The Messiah is coming.

What exactly is the flip-flop Deek? What is his previous statement, and what has it changed to? Its gonna take about five minutes of reading (even if you move your lips while you do it), so lets see if thats too much work for you.

For the politically stunted, here's what's going on. Obama has to appeal to a broader range of voters now. He's no longer needing just Democratic voters. So he's moving to the center to attract the Christianists (with his recent pronouncements on funding faith based orgs) and moderation of his stance on when/how to get out of the ME. He's working in the battleground states.

More radical Democrats, the hell raisers, have nowhere to go, realistically. Nadar's a ballot waster. So Obama knows he has their votes in his pocket. So now he's working on trying to assuage the fears of all those bible thumpers, Indys, and moderate GOPers who are fed up with Bushco and the state of the union.

I think he's being very astute. It seems to be paying off if his standing in those states is a "tell." Remember Bush's bullshit about being a moderate the first time around? The "compassionate conservative' crap? That' what got him his votes.

You don't win presidential elections by being radical. The American people are centrists, for the most part. Even Roosevelt campaigned as a moderate in '32.

This is an important issue and one that's driving the vote for many.

And one that I don't see worth politicizing with the traditional 'drive by'.

I would welcome him talking to everyone involved and doing what he can to make the best of the situation we're in and bring it to an end.

I don't think this is flip-flopping. I think it's him getting a reality check and wanting not to drift to the side of 'some' of the loons in Congress who want to run away at any cost.

Do you at least agree we need someone to try an end the conflict in Iraq?

Well, there's no doubt we're on cruise control with the moron in the back seat.

You won't find anyone left supporting this administration.

YES, of course we need to agressively pursue the end game in Iraq. I think we are past the point of no return there; now it is just a matter of getting out smarter than we got it. It matters not to me who does it.

It was quite silly that the cable networks ran with this non-story, wasn't it?

Funnier still is that Obama is getting out immediately on his web site and hasn't adjusted his message to toss you losers for the general election.

You couldn't be a dumber tool than to fall for his shit and now you're making excuses.

What's really cool is you think you need him and he's going to fuck you like a prom bitch on Saturday night.
