Default Who watched Countdown tonight?

Ok, I'll admit I did. Usually I find Keith Oberman more humorous then politically relevant, but damn, tonight his special comment on Obama and FISA was brilliant.

Seriously watch the end of it, it was great.

P.S. No this isn't an anti Obama thing, although I don't really support Obama. Oberman certainly gave us a noteworthy diatribe, definitely worthy of further debate.

Yup. I saw it. He's a little preachy but always makes good points.

You probably want to listen a little more carefully. That's a fun, informative and funny show, often with brilliant sarcasm. I'd bet an unbiased weeks worth of watching will hook you.

Make it 4. At least.

(He's been beating BillO lately, hasn't he?)

Though often a bit over the top, the point of the show, and its value, is that he usually makes observations worthy of careful thought.

Brilliant sarcasm is what I watch for to start with, for that matter I've watched the show for years.

Last night was a step above normal, his commentary wasn't merely sarcastic...it was right. That is the reason I mentioned it on these boards.

This comment is what proves you don't watch very closely. What you describe is entirely commonplace.

I watch him when I get the chance. I don't get the chance to watch much TV.

Yep. saw it. One of the best 'Special Comments' I've seen as far as noteworthy content. I hope Obama saw it too... he was right on.

I like Olbermann because he's one of the more intelligent pols out there, and he does know how to turn a sarcastic phrase to perfection. Sometimes he gets pretty worked up at the end, but it shows passion... and he has a lot of cajones for saying some of the things he does. But somebody has to say them.

BillO is just a blustering jackass.

Oh, that's right, O'Reilly's the "Cadillac" of commentary shows...

with the same dinosaur demographic.

Huh. I know that kiddies watch that failed sportscaster with a terrible hairpiece, known as Keith Olbermann. Adults watch O'Reilley.

Check the ratings. It ain't even close, and it is obvious why.

But by all means, keep on watching the sniper...err.....Keith and his liberal buddies from Newsweek that he employes to keep his basement rated show afloat.

You realize, of course, that (a) the total difference is approximately the capacity of one large stadium over the entire country, and (b) the wall-banging right wingnuts have no other place to go in the "liberal media" they all hate so much, so maybe we should add all the other shows that are on at the same time to Olbermann's number.

Bottom line: the "conservative" movement proved no less venal and corrupt than any other, and that's the main reason why it's over.

WHat makes you think the conservative movement is over? Talk radio is doing better than ever, and it offers a very viable alternative to the liberal print and television media. Liberal talk radio, on the other hand, failed miserably.

I think it is important to have a healthy balance between the two. One reason Fox News Network dominates the ratings is that people in general are tired of the constant liberal agenda being forwarded by the liberal media, and that is why Fox ratings beat the tar out of the likes of MSNBC and CNN, hell those two combined don't make up even 1/3 of Fox's ratings.
