Default Even more good news!!!! (CHANGE!)

Some things to ponder, boys.

In just 18 months...... Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to
read the following:
18 months ago

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollar s;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with
what's handed to him.

Quote of the Day......."My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the hi
story of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." --
Barack Obama

Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics
enlightening and amazing.
The Tax Foundation - U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008
Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K -tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K -tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K -tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K -tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K -tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K -tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Obama will return to the higher tax rates (change, remember?)

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush
is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama is elected, he will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a
good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for
it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam
somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

That's weak sauce. Way to ignore the previous six years of Bush + GOP Congress failure.

Lets go back in time to when your worshipful hero took the reigns from the last decent president we had.

You seem to think that the end of a trend line has nothing to do with the beginning of it.

America began it's downhill slide the moment the GOP took full control of the government. And your boy, the Dipshit in Chief (remind me again how many times you voted for him) was driving.

Republicans On Track For Record Number of Filibusters

Saturday July 21, 2007
On Wednesday, I put together a table showing cloture motions filed since 1973. In this, the 110th, Congress, there have already been 49 motions for cloture. The most in any two-years was the 104th (1995-1996) with 82.

On Friday, McClatchy projected that 158 cloture motions are possible for the 110th Congress, if Republicans continue threatening filibuster at the current rate,

A cloture motion is filed to try to stop debate. To stop debate in the Senate requires 60 votes. With effectively a 51-49 majority, Democrats have trouble pulling together the 60 votes required to stop debate and call for a vote.

Although Iraq is possibly the most visible bone of contention, Republicans have used the filibuster to block votes on legislation dealing with immigration, energy, labor rights and prescription drugs. They also used it to block a vote of no-confidence on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

****

Last I head is that the GOP has blocked 75 pieces of legislation either by filibuster or the threat of same OR Bush's threatening to veto, which the Democrats can't override.

Keep up will you?

Well, I"m sorry for letting a little thing like the facts get in the way of your point.

Jerome's right. The Democrats are to blame for not standing up to the GOP, letting them actually filibuster in the well and let Bush veto to his heart's content and exposing them for the obstructionists they are.

Keep it up, though, Deek. Maybe someday you might make it to the bigs.
So far, you're just batting <.200. Way less, actually.

Got some news for you. When it's nothing but Democrats holding office, it won't get a lot better.

Deek's just no good with basic US civics. Nothing new. I've tried to explain the majority v. supermajority thing to him, but... I'm with you that the Dems need to just push things through, let the GOP kill it/Bush veto it, then trumpet that fact from the rooftops. Bush and the GOP would be DOA, if they did that.

FYI. Thanks to the Democrats I was able to get low interest lowns thus allowing me to get an education. Thus far from what I've seen the gop has gone out of it's way to kill off all the low interest student loans. So yeah I'm hoping for a change.
Any thing is better than the shit the gop is slinging and the piss your boy king is drinking!
We the american people have officially had enough of the gop and their boy king.
In the past 8 years you have brought us nothing but hate and missery! Now pleas go back to your parents basements where you belong and work on your Klingon you pathetic loosers! You had your chance you blew it beyong recognition and now you want us to forgive you? GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!
Any thing is better than the gop and their wonder boy little baby bush!
