Who does and who doesn't truly have the right to complain?
There's always been that saying that "if you don't vote you don't have the right to complain", the insinuation being that you could have voted for the other candidate. But somewhere not long ago I read a comment by someone that if you did, for example, vote for Bush previously, isn't it YOU who doesn't have the right to complain? Just a thought.

To a certain extent I agree. However if a candidate just totally lies what then? We don't have much to go on when a candidate makes promises (or what ever you want to call them) and then does a 180 or just doesn't follow through with somethings.

Even if you voted for Bush in 2000 and learned to regret it, you can complain if you voted for somebody else in 2004. If you voted for dumb'ya in 2004, you have to listen to everyone else complain and must grovel in abject misery, because you are one of the reasons we are so screwed now.
How's that?

since when has anyone not had the right to complain? There is always something or someone you can complain about.

Everyone has the right to complain. But if you're not willing to even vote to change it, then who should give a fuck what you think?

Edit to add... If you vote for a candidate that has absolutely no chance of winning as a 'protest' vote, it gives you somewhat of a right to complain, I suppose. And if that vote takes away a potential vote for the worst candidate, I suppose it has it's purpose. But otherwise it's kind of a waste. Especially when things are so frikkin' bad that voting for what one considers "the lesser of two evils" could at least help get us out of the mess we're in.
I know, the supposed logic is that if enough people keep voting for a 3rd party candidate, then eventually they might actually have a chance of winning. But until a strong enough candidate comes along, it's still a waste, IMO.
The problem with a lot of 3rd party voters is they're unrealistic. They won't be satisfied until they find a "perfect" candidate that agrees with every one of their positions. It's never gonna happen, folks. Might as well resign yourself to a lifetime of frustration, disappointment, and complaining endlessly about the system.
Nothing is perfect... the best you can do is keep working with what there is to choose from, and keep pushing towards the goals you believe in... just sitting it out in protest until your 'dream' comes along is a cop-out.

Who even cares about the ones who vote as well?
After we get all this 'change' there will still be a lot to complain about.

One will blow a little less ass than the other, there will usually be more than two candidates in a race, and there are a lot of other contests and issues on the ballot.
If you can't be bothered to vote because you don't like the candidates in one race, then I care even less about what you think.
