Woman saves her life and her childs life with handgun.

Jeffersonville - A woman accused of shooting a man during a case of road rage and then calling for help may not face charges. The confrontation happened at a busy intersection in the southern Indiana community of Jeffersonville.

Witnesses say an aggressive motorcycle driver blocked an SUV from going around. When the two stopped, the motorcycle driver jumped off his bike. The driver of the SUV, Yolanda Parrish, hit the man with the vehicle door, picked up a gun and then shot him in the chest. Witnesses say Parrish and her 15-year-old son then stood over the man cursing before making this call to 911.

Dispatcher: "You need to put the gun down on the passenger side floor of the car."
Caller: "It is. I am out of the car."
Dispatcher: "Okay. Keep your hands on the either the hood or the roof of the car where they can see them and just stay there like that until the police get there so that way there is no mishaps, okay?"
Caller: "I put it up under the seat."

The motorcycle driver is in a medically-induced coma but he is expected to survive. Police say Parrish acted in self-defense. The prosecutor will decide if she'll face charges.

This is the part that bothers me. Scared people who shoot in self defense don't usually stand over the person cursing at them afterwards.

as in all news reports, there are omitted details. There are only three people who know exactly what happened.

Biker scum anyways! Guys like us are a perfect reason to BAN HELMETS! Helmets mean there's more bikers around because they don't get wacked in the head enough, and they might survive to terrorize whole neighborhoods of old ladies and children. It is a crisis, I tell ya!

Agreed, but she did knock the gun out of his hand with the door and when she picked it up I'm sure he tried to get it back. If he did indeed try to get the gun back she could articulate that her life and her childs life was in danger.

WTF, the woman and her child are ALIVE. They lived thru this incident because she carried and used a gun!

the story. It stated that the motorcyclist approached the drivers door, she swung the door open knocking the gun to the ground. she picked up the gun and shot him.

I understood the story to say when she swung the door open hitting the motorcyclist it knocked the gun out of his hand and to the ground.

That's what I'm fucking talking about.

Another thing. I never read any where who was carrying the gun. I assumed what I wrote above because we weren't given enough in the post. It never stated who was carrying it but the way the story is written makes me believe that the motorcyclist had it.

The way it's written makes me believe the motorcyclist had the gun. It sounds like we need more info on this one before we jump to conclusions. Like I said, if the motorcyclist did have a gun and she was able to get it then it sounds like she can articulate that she felt her childs and her life was in danger.

Now if they find out that she was the gun owner and shot him then I believe she should be charged.
