Default Canadians lead on TASER ethics...

Once again our Canadian friends (despite a weaker constitution) are leading the way on protection of individual liberty and protection against punishment ex-adjudication.

The Associated Press: Canada's police force agrees to restrict Taser use

I think we should do away with tasers. They use too much electricity. Besides, 38's and 45's work much better.

Seriously, the entire notion of "let's not hurt dangerous people who are trying to hurt us", is complete bullshit.

And why don't we have phasers yet?!? Set for kill!

"The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said it will restrict Taser use after the head of its public watchdog said the force should only use the weapons in situations where suspects are combative or could cause harm."

When else would you need to taser somebody?

You've identified the exact problem.

Cadet Schmidt became a Law Enforcement expert during his....ah......err....ahem......ride along.

Do not argue with him. He is an honorary LEO.

And he has friends in high places, too.
