So, should I be getting ready to dump my stock holdings, then? This kind of story makes me seriously jumpy about what to do with them, since I'd rather pay the income/cap gains tax, than be left with nothing and owing on margin calls.

If you own stock in good companies, with solid financials behind them, you're almost always better off holding than selling. Only sell if they're not solid companies or if their price is unsupported by their financials.

value of this info? 2p.

Wait, isn't Obama going to fix this? Just wait on all of it.

At least, he won't deliberately make it any worse. How about your boy McCain, with his "four more years" economic policies?

Please to explain exactly why you think he'll make it worse than the last 7+ years of GOP malfeasance already has?

$12 billion per month and counting pissed away in Iraq is just a starting point for how the GOP has f**ked this country. Obama can hardly do worse than Dubya and Cheney. We might even have safe food to eat, and even slightly more trustworthy financial institutions, if he rebuilds the regulatory agencies nearly destroyed by the GOP leadership. Or do you not care about the quality and safety of your food and water, or whether your bank is cheating eveyone possible?

Those were rhetorical questions, by the way. Your previous "answers" show that you don't care, as long as you get "smaller government".

The statement was "he won't deliberately make it any worse". Both candidates will do just that. As for how Obama will, it's very simple - higher taxes and unaffordable entitlement programs.

Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he will eat forever. Take a fish from a fisherman to give to a man everyday, and he will vote for you.

Actually, you probably won't. You will likely just always blame the other side. Much easier that way.

Sure. You'll either not vote or vote for some third party candidate who will never have a chance in "protest", because you aren't getting 100% of what you want. Well guess what? No one is ever going to give you 100% of what you want.

But it's pretty simple this time. One candidate will try and end the $12 billion a month for nothing in Iraq and the other wants to keep going for as long as possible.
