Americans hate you...no they don't...yes they do....
I'm sorry but this is freaking funny reading right here!
Chevron CEO: Market, not greed, driving gas prices - CNN.com
Chevron CEO: Market, not greed, driving gas prices
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blitzer: You know you have -- you and ExxonMobil, the Big Oil companies --have a huge public relations problem. In all the recent polls, when the American public is asked, who do you blame for these huge gas prices at the pump, they -- more than any other single source -- they blame Big Oil. They blame you. What's going on? Watch Blitzer grill O'Reilly »
O'Reilly: Well, I don't think they blame us as much as you think. It looks to me like there's a lot of blame to go around.
Blitzer: There's other blame, but more than any other single source, they blame Big Oil.
O'Reilly: It depends on the poll you look at.
Blitzer: The recent Gallup Poll.
(right about here Mr. O'Reilly just shat him self a little and his ear piece, the same one utilized by our boy king praise be upon his name little baby jesus bush, kicked in and was thus informed to spin....spin like his little dick depended on it!)
O'Reilly: Let me point out what we're trying to do about this because I think the issue here is one of supply. And prices are high today, but it's fundamentally a concern about oil supplies -- 75 percent of the price of gasoline is related to crude oil.
We're very dependent on crude oil imports. The total world demand for crude oil has been growing steadily over the last decade. And that is affecting everybody's price. So it is a concern, but we need to work on the supply side, as well as the demand side, to bring change.
Blitzer: Because you have had record profits, right?
O'Reilly: We're investing those record profits.
Blitzer: But billions and billions of dollars in profits, more than ever before.
O'Reilly: Yes, but it's a big business. (ENTER THE SPIN!) And on a return-on-sales business, we're right in there with the average of American business today. What we're doing is investing that money. For example, last year, we did make a lot of money, $18.7 billion. This year, our capital investment in new supplies is $22.9 billion, almost $23 billion.

It isn't spin- their return on investment is not outrageous. The total dollar volume is what makes it so remarkable. They spend a whole lot of money to make their profits.

O' Reilly's a fucking liar and Blitzer is a dull witted wimp
Here's what Chevron (and all of Big Oil) is doing with their filthy lucre.
Chevron approves $15B buyback program
Enriched by high oil prices, Chevron Corp. will spend up to $15 billion buying back its own stock -- a commitment that pleased shareholders and rankled critics clamoring for bigger investments in projects that might help lower energy costs.
The three-year repurchase program announced Wednesday served as yet another reminder of the cash cascading into the oil industry while motorists have been trying to cope with higher gasoline bills.
Blitzer didn't call O'Reilly's ass on this. As usual, he stood there with his finger in his nose. He's lazy. Doesn't do his homework. Never has. (The fucker!)

I'm sad to say that this has become the norm for almost everybody working in the media today. The news has been cancelled.

Tim Russert did his homework.
Well, that's one of the kids from Buffalo.
Too bad; another yardstick by which to measure the loss.

Gaolee, when are you going to stop shilling for Big Oil? They've made more money in the last year than any company in the history of business.
Don't you know you're getting screwed blue and tatooed? Man, you need to do some reading on the topic. You are seriously misgiven.
Big Oil is indefensible. Teddy Roosevelt busted Standard oil into 15 or so companies. Today, we're right back to 6 "supermajor," totally vertically integrated megacorps which control supplies, price, and work hand in glove with OPEC countries, with each other and with Wall Street.
THEY WILL GET THEIR WAY IN ANWR AND ON THE COASTS. Mark my words. Forget the 10,000 undrilled leases they currently own. They want it ALL. Every fucking acre of it.

When was the last time the fucking Sherman Anti-Trust Act was enforced in this country? Before Reagan I think when they busted up AT&T.

In the last 16 years, there hasn't been a major merger or acquisition that anyone in the federal regulatory agencies hasn't liked. It was virtually appalling under Clinton, who campaigned as a populist Democrat but had his greasy hand out to every corporate coin purse on Earth.
At least with Bush he was behaving as we all expected him to behave. As he himself said, his "base" was the "Haves" and the "Have-mores."
Every government regulatory agency from the FDA to FTC to the FCC has been gutted. The EPA. All of them.
We can't even eat tomatoes, for crissakes. They're full of salmonella and no one knows how they got that way.

Maybe so, but their profit margin still isn't that remarkable. It seems to me that the government makes more off of each gallon of gas than big oil does, and they don't have to pay for the equipment and manpower to get it to the pumps.

What? Who builds and maintains the US and Interstate highway system, including bridges, interchanges, landscaping, and all the rest.
Do you ever read those signs at road construction sites which tell you how much your state is paying and how much the Fed is chipping in? Get with the program.
