They aren't fixing them? My roads in NJ have been good lately! Hu go figure!
Well then that's what you should bring up with your local elected officials.

Just nationalize the domestic oil industry and have government workers do it all. That will change the price at the pump.

You need to call the local DMV and report them. We had a few but they are being fixed.

Actually, out where I hang out, which is Jefferson and St. Louis counties, the roads are pretty damned good. Even the county roads are good. The freeways are a hell of a lot better than anything here in Oregon, frankly. And the absolute best superslabs are all in The South, from my experience. The roads get better the farther out you go from population and traffic. And 18 wheelers.

It's scary to realize how many of you guys really believe "big oil" is out to get you and driving up oil prices just to screw you. The one and only goal of a corporation is to do what is in the best interest of their shareholders-most of which are Americans. In fact, if you have ANY mutual funds odds are you own some "big oil".
I don't even have the energy to get in to it. Don't take the easy way out and just try to bite the hand that feeds you. You should be thanking these firms for taking severe capital risks and continuing to drill in most costly areas. When all the oil is gone are you just going to blame "big oil" for that too? The only guys really winning right now are those who own the reserves-arabs, mexicans, russians, etc. Exxon loses money as we buy less gas which is currently occuring. You guys are trying to kill your only hope. Very scary.

Exactly. It'll surely increase supply since they will be more aggressive in drilling and any lower prices will surely lower demand.
Anyone who believes the above [I realize you are being sarcastic] has ABSOLUTELY ZERO understanding of ANYTHING having to do with financial markets or the absolutely BASIC concept of supply and demand. You guys are frightening!

You've got friends in congress. They are considering it.
Doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell, but hey, we know where you stand.
PoliGazette » Democrats Propose Nationalizing Oil
We (the government) should own the refineries. Then we can control how much gets out into the market.
Is the US going to follow in Hugo Chavez’s footsteps?

The price change I was referring to was UP. Way UP. Followed by shortages.

Could you do me one small favor before I buy into this crap? Could you just explain how the oil companies are "feeding me?" And while your at it "these firms." too.
Seems I have something they want, which is my fooking money. And they have something I need, which is gasoline and Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic. I have limited amounts of money. They have ALL the gasoline and Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic. This is what's known as an unequal bargain. I think I'm feeding them, not the other way around. [:roll eyes]
