Hey, if you want to pay all my bills, I'll stay home. Or at least, you'll think I'm at home. I'll really be out riding or at the track.

I have been paying all the bills for 20 years. Thank goodness my wife doesn't have a track habit. We can only afford one tire, oil, and fuel habit in the family.

I couldn't have a guy paying my way. Then he'd think he owns me or something and that would not go over well at all. I'd rather be broke yet still in possession of myself than have everything paid for me and lose my independence.

Just paying the bills doesn't make for ownership, at least not so I have noticed! I suppose she could be more independent every way but economically, but I don't know how. It makes for a lot of pressure, since I can't pursue anything that is more risky than a plain old job without putting her and our son at risk, too. I expect she will be back in the paid workforce in the next year or so, and that's going to be a huge relief. It has been a partnership since word go, and if it wasn't, it probably wouldn't have lasted.

I'm a little jaded from my first marriage when I stayed home with the kids or just worked part time. My husband thought he could spend money on whatever he wanted b/c he made most of the money, and left me to scrape together what was left over to pay the bills. But he would get pissed off if I wanted to buy something for myself.

Now I would rather die than have to ask if I can buy something I want, or have to beg for my man to buy me something. I like having my own money and being able to take care of myself.

I am sure my wife is looking forward to the same thing. She is very careful about what she spends money on and will also be able to relax a bit once she is finished with her school and back to work. It is a tough balance.

I couldn't agree with you more. The feds crazy corporate buyouts are what caused the home loans crisis.

I'm not attacking democrats and/or defending republicans.

Each candidate is JUST AN INDIVIDUAL who has to stand on their own two feet. Alone. Without a party beside, next to, or against them.

Bush is also a socialist!! His actions prove it. Obama is just more forward with admitting it. He doesn't pretend to be a conservative.
