If you won't vote for OBAMA because of Wright you weren't gonna vote for him anyway.
Quit shitting yourself and wasting bandwidth and irritating me.
People kill me with that shit....looking for and finding some bullshit rationalization for what they wanted to do, or not do, anyway.
The only reason people post that crap is to legitimize it to themselves.

Weren't you the HRC cheerleader who kept saying Obama wasn't "ready" for this? Something about him being too uppity, I think...
But yes, saying you can't for him now that you found out that he got an 87% on a test about constitutional law while at Harvard instead of the class high of 94% would be less stupid than this Wright thing.

County, it's not even a rationalization. It's just something to throw around to stir up the pot. You are spot on about the people most "put off" by Wright are the ones who had no intention of voting for Obama.
Ergo...the net effect of the Wright dust-up is zero.
At this stage it's all about mobilizing the troops to vote. Everyone's pretty much made up their minds and probably had them made up weeks ago. Even these last minute swings in the polls reflect the true feelings of the voter compared to what they told some pollster a couple of weeks ago, I'm a-thinkin'.
That's my very humble opinion.

Wrong again, county. There are more than a few people on the fence about Obama...and since he did not tell us much about himself this whole incident is very illuminating.

Considering he was very open and forward about what church he attends, partly due to Islam rumors, I have a hard time believing he is hiding much. If there was much more to find, Clinton, who is running a Rove style slash and burn campaign, would have found it by now.

He first defended Wright, saying " I can no sooner disown Rev Wright than I can disown black people"
Then he denied ever hearing any of the offending "sermons"
Then he said he had heard some....but not all.
Then he totally denounced Wright after Wright continued to throw him under the bus.
You don't smell a rat??? Seriously???

Sure wasn't very open on what was being preached in his church.

Do you guys care about Hagey or Parsley? If not, then you probably ought to acknowledge the fact that Wright is nothing to worry about either. The only difference is that the media has no made either of McCain's spiritual advisors an issue and therefore not forced him to account for the total wackjobs he has in his corner.

Neither of those guys are McCain's "spiritual mentors" so that little tid bit of spin is going nowhere. The media does not have anything on McCain, or you can bet your ass it would be front and center. Oh wait....the NYT thought they had something.....but it turns out it was total bs.

So, the fact that a couple of complete (f)Right Wing, Christianist, bigotted, zenophobic whackos endorse McCain, and he proudly trumpets those endorsements isn't equally important to the Wright issue? If not, then you are an utterly partisan GOP hack, and will ALWAYS vote against your own self interest for misplaced ideological reasons.
The stupid wing of the GOP is much in evidence today...

Yeah, apparently recent republicans don't need spiritual mentors or advisors, as they talk directly to the chief himself.

Baldrick, are off the meds again? Take a slow, deep breath, man....the reason McCain's "pastors" are not a story...is....because......stay with me......they.....are.....not.....a......story.
Got it? They did NOT say the US Gov't infused the black community, they did NOT say we deserved 9-11///they did NOT say US of KKK and all the other hateful, nasty lies that this freak Wright is spewing forth.
Now stop being a hack, ok? Sheesh.
