DEVELOPING STORY: Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the 52-year-old woman known as the "D.C. Madam," is believed to have committed suicide at her mother's home in a trailer park in the Tampa area, Tarpon Springs Police told FOXNews.com.
Palfrey was found guilty on April 15 by a D.C. jury of racketeering and money laundering related to her operating a house of prostitution. Palfrey had threatened to reveal the names of her clients — many believed to be high-profile political and business figures — if prosecutors went forward with their case.

I doubt very seriously if "The Man" got to her.
Her appeal would probably have won in the Court of Appeals, but now that's moot. The only evidence was that she arranged dates for clients, which is never illegal. What happened after that had nothing to do with her. That means she's innocent of "prostitution", thus no other crimes can apply. She did not run a bordello. She always paid her taxes.
Sentencing was not until the end of July. She promised that if convicted, she would name names, including Cheney.
Dominatrix Leola McConnell was an expert witness for the DC Madam's lawyer in this case, regarding Cheney's perversions, before she went missing and is now feared dead.
"This is a woman who was divorced, who was trying to raise two high-school children, college-age children," Palfrey said. Women generally aren't into hanging, btw. Much more likely to take an OD or if they want the dramatic, slit wrists--but then it's hard to explain away the defensive wounds.
