Cliff notes version- Iran's thought police are getting very nervous about Barbie imports, among other toys. Apparently oil revenues mean more people can buy what they want, including western toys. I like Barbie dolls about as much as I like a planter's wart, but this is great! The Mullahs might get brought down by a Barbie.

haha yea I saw this in BBC too. The mullahs also issue fatwas against poodles, they became popular and the mullas don't like their "westernized" look hah. Great book on Iranian culture (from a female American/Iranian perspective) is "Lipstick Jihad".
