“My plan as the chair of the DNC is to try to get this resolved before we get to the convention, because if you go into the convention divided, it's pretty likely you'll come out of the convention divided,” Dean said. “I don't know what the solution's going to be.”
Howard Dean is pushing for one of the two to drop out and quick.

I think he's got a good idea. I understand how much we all like this primary business, but the party can decide what they wish at the convention anyhow. IMHO they should give themselves more time to prepare for the real fight.

Dean is a smart cookie. No one (except perhaps Senator Clinton) wants this to be a floor fight in Denver. I think she calls it quits after she gets waxed by 20 points in North Carolina. Her super delegate lead is now down to something like 25, she's out of money, and that's it.

The only way I can see her taking it to Denver is if she really is playing for some spot in 2012, and trying to throw the election to McCain.

Much as I'd like it to be over and my pick is Obama, I'd have to say that I think this is the real fight. I think either Dem will beat McCain and what we're doing now is picking the next President.

She got a big uptake in donations (10 million) after Pennsylvania, but shes going to spend a huge chunk of that in Indiana.

Her strategy was that she would have things wrapped up by Super Tuesday, and that didn't work out. She's always been cash strapped and that hasn't changed much.

I agree with Dean's secondary point, that if the Dems don't pick a candidate quick, they probably won't be picking the next POTUS.

We'll see. I think everyone would like to have the best possible chance, but it would take a major realignment of the stars for McCain to win. I just don't see any chance of it.

One of the things I thought was jarring about Dean's comments was mention of electability. It was almost as though he was throwing a bone to the Clinton camp.

There's no way Clinton can drop out until she loses a state. She is on a run through states very favorable to her, and she will run into a buzz saw in North Carolina. Indiana is the place I plan to watch very carefully. I don't know what to expect there.

I think Clinton will win Indiana. There are a lot of colleges in that state and that generally plays to Obama but I'm not sure it will be enough to get him a win there. Hopefully he crushes here in NC but PA may have hurt him.

You know you have issues when Howard Dean emerges as the "voice of reason." Look, you don't have to be a genius to see the self destruction of the Democrat party going on....but Hillary is NOT going to give up, and Dean can't force her to do shit.

I don't think it will matter in the long run, neither candidate represents what America wants in a president.

Actually I read a book called "the Revolution will not be televised" written by his campaign manager and more about their use of the internet for fundraising, and ended up finding out (a little late albeit) that he was a pretty good candidate.

He's also doing a pretty good job as DNC chair.

Any Dems you don't care to slam on just for the sake of slamming bud?

Sorry, they are what they are. Gonna be some long faces here come November.

I do like the general passion of the voters in the dem primaries, though. That is encouraging.

Deek will find a reason to vote against his own best interest no matter who was running on the Democratic ticket.

You'll find a reason, just like I predicted well over a year ago before the field was even set.
