We haven't had a deep magenta threat alert yet, so the election cycle isn't getting close to ending yet.

As long as it isn't a pale lavender alert, you are probably OK.

This is saber rattling at it's finest and if Iran fucks up like most do in that region they will pay a heavy price.
Worst of all it might help us in Iraq so I understand why so many of you are upset.

Well, you're certainly not left.....
My question is this: why would they bring up something that was months and months old and risk breaking off the talks?

Or center. In fact, I don't think that even qualifies as "right" anymore. Just dumb.
As to your question, the only motive for ginning this up is to obscure bad news from Iraq until November 6. I think they know that the jig is up on the "surge."

wow, just wow, so this is how it starts:
An allie makes a somewhat justified move that gets media attention.
Months later, in the midst of a presidential election cycle and talks with power hungry dictatorship it comes out we "knew" NK was somehow linked.
Link magically supports all kinds of things like: how we should be in the region, and maybe go further, and oh yeah, we shouldn't have to talk to NK, even though we do have 40K soldiers stationed just south, and they do have nukes.
If you don't smell propaganda, you're an idiot. I call it planned intelligence release.
We are not going to just end up further east in asia, we might end up goin north further east. Of my four cousins that have served, one is now in SK after going to Iraq twice. Knowing what conflict smells like, he is convinced that we aren't just upholding the DMZ anymore.

dumb'ya wants the apocolypse and the rapture before he leaves office. Maybe Shah is right. He thinks of himself as Jesus H. Bush, the second coming, and he will bring on armageddon. I sure hope not, and I sure hope somebody in the chain of command points out the obvious- namely his excellent adventures aren't doing us any good.

Please. Bush may be a lame duck but he isn't dead.

(AP) As boating season approaches, the Bush administration wants to enlist America's 80 million recreational boaters to help reduce the chances that a small boat could deliver a nuclear or radiological bomb somewhere along the 95,000 miles of U.S. coastline and inland waterways.
According to an April 23 intelligence assessment obtained by The Associated Press, "The use of a small boat as a weapon is likely to remain al Qaeda's weapon of choice in the maritime environment, given its ease in arming and deploying, low cost, and record of success."
|
They seem to be missing one tiny point: How the fuck do you get a nuclear warhead or a large dirty bomb here? The attack on the Cole happened in large part because the Cole was in a Yemeni port. Is DHS saying the terrists are going to cross the Atlantic in a fucking Zodiac boat?
Idiots...

Yep, there is a Zodiac headed for Okracoke, NC right now. The dastardly plan is to sneak into the Outer Banks and blow up a lot of sand. They might also get lucky and kill some wild horses. The Zodiac is leaving an Algerian port right now, but they are sneaky, because they are sailing under a Nigerian flag. Pretty tricky, don't you think? But, some heroic sailors in a dinghy will foil their dastardly plan now that they have been enlisted in the heroic war against trrists. Those trrists are evil, my preciousssss.
