Default McCain's Temper

McCain's temper tantrums are well known. I'm personally not sure if I want a guy subject to rages to have a finger on the nuclear trigger. And I also suspect the Democratic nominee will try to take full advantage of this vulnerability in the general. I don't think he can inoculate himself against that.

A good (and actually well balanced) article article in the Wapo on McCain's temper.

Wow. That was a blistering rebuttal.

I actually read the WAPO piece. I'm not sure what you found laughable about it, but its not apparent from the article.

The article is shit and it may only get small industry awards because it's merely the 2nd biggest smear job on McCain this year.

How does this sound?

Countering real incidents with something that you pulled out of your ass. Somebody put an extra heaping of stupid on their corn flakes this morning...

None of this is news to political junkies who lived in Arizona over the last twenty years. McCain has been well known as an insufferable little prick for a long, long time. He's had full control over the Arizona GOP since Barry Goldwater retired and he's run it like a tyrant. More than a few R's in state politics had their careers stymied or ended because they made some small sin against St. John. The most common offense has been failing to sufficiently kiss his ass, punished by cutting them off from state party money or, for the worst cases, being challenged in a primary by someone who does have McCain's blessing.

The worst examples are where McCain has gone after staffers. It's one thing to act like this with other politicians, but to go out of your way to punish staff people like this article shows is something else.

It's also remarkable for so many of McCain's senate colleagues to have come out on the record. I can't recall another time when something like this has happened, especially from colleagues in his own party.

But for all the colleagues it shows blood is thicker than water. They all stand by him even tho' he's a dick. Great! We replace a dunce for a president with madman.

Is this what Gibbon meant? (The educated among you will immediately get the reference! The rest will Google.)

Chances are Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee, and will debate John Mcain... hopefully more than once. I'm really looking forward to that.

McCain: Short, tempermental old white guy who apparently resents tall people... and young people... and liberals... and intellectuals... and possibly black people... and people without prior military service.

Obama: Tall, young, liberal, intelligent, black, and never served in the military. Also witty and unflappable, with an ability to calmly turn intended criticism around and use it to make his opponent look ridiculous.

What a perfect match-up. I can see it now... Obama serenely and methodically pushing all those big red anger buttons plastered all over McCain's forehead. McCain blustering and stuttering like Grandpa Simpson. They're gonna need an ambulance and a few EMT's on standby for when McCain's head explodes.

This is gonna be fun.

I suspect you didn't read it. But that doesn't really surprise me.

You are so, so, right. I hope they debate every week. I can replace taping shit on Court TV with the two of them. Obama must first secure the nomination, though. But you are absolutely right about any kind of reasonable debate. McCain is way too old and literally cannot speak without crib notes or a TelePromtper. If he tries, he ends up with shit like "bomb, bomb, Bomb Iran." He couldn't ad-lib a fart after a baked-bean dinner.

And if Obama pushes the hot buttons, of which McCain has plenty, there's no telling what would happen.

With the media's propensity for endlessly hammering gaffe's down our throats, McCain doen't stand a chance.

What a sad way to choose a president, though...

I'd love to see that happen in the 'liberal' media.

Then how come you are always so glib and unprepared in these discussions? Based on your contributions, I imagine you to be someone who studiously avoids uncomfortable information.

Given that you've yet to say why you thought the piece was worthy of your unexplained ridicule, I'm callin' BS. Again.
