Default Must be tough to be poor in America

The houses you see in this picture were built by Habitat for Humanity for the poor people that can't afford a home on their own.........that would get in the way of the payment on that CORVETTE (personalized plates on it no less).

Gee, wouldn't it be nice to not have a mortgage to worry about so you too could have a nice shiny vette with personal plates on it.

Amazingly, the rest of us actually PAY for our homes, food, cable, etc. Imagine that-----and I drive a 1994 truck with 152,000 miles on it and couldn't get a loan for a new truck because my mortgage costs me most of my monthly income.

I'm poor too. Retired veteran as well- and yet no one is building me a new house (mine is 40 years old and needs a roof) and letting me score a shiny vette to park out front.

It's the dumbass liberals at work. Now, before the libs here go all butt hurt on me- let me say that it's not lack of intelligence- it's that pollyanna, naive world the left loves to live in.
You're getting ripped off, taken advantage of, and your charity is someone else's way of getting over. And you're too dumb to see it.

All that liberal 'feed the poor' nonsense sounds great to boost one's own ego about how great of a humanitarian you are. But in the real world, it's just sadly gullible. You may have good intentions, but you're just pissing away OTHER PEOPLE'S money.

No one spends YOUR money as fast as a liberal or an ex-wife.

This same house also had the road closed off while the cops were there----again----this week. Only the 3rd time in a month or so I've driven by the place and had to weave past the police cruisers.

Meanwhile- this hard working jewish guy next door to my house wanted to buy it so he can have his family next door. Turned down on his loan request for my house because he had less than 2 years at his current job.

Hell if he just quit and kept the police employed coming to his house daily- he too could have my house AND a corvette.
What was he thinking anyway? Actually WORK for his house? Come on....this is America.

Money earned from dealin' and pimpin' ani't claimed on the tax returns, so they be po'.

My sister and BIL lived in a low income housing complex in New Orleans back in the early/mid ninetys for awhile, and there was actually a guy driving an Acura NSX. And this was when they were still new, so it wasn't a 15 year old used one.

Not to say the covrette in the pic above is acceptable, because even if its 11 years old and high milage, they could have bought a much more practical car if they were hurting for money bad enough to get a free house.

that vette is parked there daily. I mentioned it in an earlier thread but just got around to whipping out the phone cam to snap the pic.

Yeah, notice this isn't some pawn shop beater of a vette. It's shiny and purty and has custom plates (over $50 in CO for personalized plates). If you look in my rearview mirror you'll see the other HfH house and notice the shiny red car in that driveway.

You all missed the Excursion with the low rider tires and custom rims parked in the driveway next door to the vette house. More money in his rims than I pay in flood insurance- yet that guy lives literally 50 feet from a creek.........bet he doesn't pay flood insurance........

Oh the list goes on. All the kids in those houses have nice Power Wheels toys they ride in the street (can't damage that free sod out front....)

Speaking of their sod- these houses got free sprinkler systems and a pass to run them, while everyone else is under water restrictions due to the drought here. If you haven't heard- CO keeps catching fire.
But can't let the free sod go south, so while my yard looks like a desert with virtually no grass (and I have to try to sell it like that) - these people are happily running a sprinkler in the mid-day sun. I'd get a ticket for even watering my lawn.

Quitcher bitchin' and report the SOB, if it's such a big deal to you. If you don't say anything to someone that can do something about it, nothing will be done, and another cheat just gets away with it. You expect the government to do everything for you? Sheesh!

Seriously, you should be reporting it to the Habitat people, and the city/county/whoever welfare case office, rather than just whining. Use that personal responsibility that you Righties always yowl about.

Edit to add: I'm one of those "Liberals" you love to bash. Semper Fi, mofo!

you never know, that guy might be finacially situated. it was probably built by habitat for humanity, but he could've bought that house. on top of that, that could've been a guy visiting his mother. he could've made it out from that area, and was coming to check up on family. just because you see a car out there, doesn't mean that it belongs to the owner of the house.

if it's parked daily, the owner of the cars probably isn't paying the bills. it's probably the son of the homeowner. in that case, he's not taking advantage of the system.

wow, that's alot of tap dancing around such an obvious thing. Alot of apologists grasping at 'what if's' and grasping at straws.

Or........like Occam's Razor tells us- the simpler answer is usually the right one.

If you feel better giving away homes so people can afford better cars than you.......by all means go for it.

But the problem is it's never the liberal's money. Alot of millionaire libs not handing out cash to people they see. But they'll pass a law so everyone else has to foot that bill.

And report it to whom? The people that get their ego from pretending to be philanthropists? Hell tell a liberal to lock up a murderer and they, like right here in this thread, have all kinds of excuses as to why they 'deserve' more than everyone else and shouldn't actually be punished.

I am just passing along the facts because my house is in the poor part of town, and I watched those houses get built, watched them get services I pay for a block away, and watched them move in their brand new, $40,000 cars and crap.

As for racism? Hell out of four houses, two of them are white families, one mexican, one black. The vette- in the driveway of a white family. The excursion with the rims and stereo belong to the black family there.

It's not about race. It's about the system being a joke. The idea of 'poor' in this country means nothing. Not when you're too poor for a mortgage, but have the jing for corvettes. I don't give a damn what color you are- all I see is red------a red corvette I could afford if I had a free, brand new home, instead of having to sell a guitar to buy shingles for my roof on a 40 year old house.

Make your excuses. Just remember that's all it is though.

no smack. Can't afford that either........

I'm not whining. I am flatly calling bullshit on the notion of poor here. Calling bullshit on the liberals that just don't live in the real world (not that the right does any better).

I'll applaud the so-called philanthropy of liberals. They think they're doing something. It boosts their little egos to think they are helping people.

In reality they are the school teacher that left the room during a test and can't believe the students cheated while they weren't looking. It's so naive that it pales in comparison to my 8 year old's worldview.

So sure- stop whining- just pay up those taxes the left loves so much- give it to those that will spend it on important investments, like sports cars and personalized license plates.

Can't argue that logic. It's fucked but it makes liberals feel like they are better people, so let's all spend our tax money to support that...........

No thanks. I'll call the bullshit, you make excuses for it, or better, ignore it entirely.

In the city in which I live approximatley 25% of the population is below the poverty line. I wouldn't care to live as they must. The neighborhoods are dangerous and run down. It's sad to see, and scarey. And there is the occasional Escalade parked in some driveways or parking lots.

You are an idiot. And envy of those who have what you do not is a sure way to make yourself miserable. Plus it's a sin.

I haven't checked lately, but last I knew Habitat homes are not freebies.
