there is nothing wrong with religion, and most religous people are actually good people. don't mistake what people in positions of power do, in the name of religion, as what religious people are about.
the only reason wars aren't fought in the name of satan is because the vast majority of people don't believe in satan. whatever it is that the majority of people believe in, people in power will exploit it for their own gain..recently it has been religion, and it would be satanism if enough people believed in it. those people don't speak for the actual religion.
you've seen that fear has also been used as a tactic recently. that's why i'm for a complete seperation of church and state, but i wouldn't bash what anyone believes in. that seems like a conservative thing to do if you ask me.

Now that that is out of the way....I read that the Pope joined the Hitler Jugend when it was manadatory...but obtained an early release to go ot the Priesthood. He was later drafted by the Krauts, but then deserted.
Hardly a Nazi. Shit, my own grandfather was drafted into the WAFFEN ss in 1944...and he hated the nazis.

There is a lot wrong with religion. People can only be "good" by specifically ignoring certain parts of religious ideology.
