So here is the catch, I can't figure you guys out.
Were the 1940's-1950's really that good? Odds are very few of you were even alive at that time thus I have no idea why conservatives lust after this utopian image that was the 40's and the 50's.
Does a diverse multy cultural future scare you that much? Does the thought of living in a country that's not all Jack and Jill in their separate beds living behind a white picket fence scare you that much? What gives? What scares you so much?
Because to be honest you insistence that we put aside all of our recent gains and to return back to the way things were in the golden past isn't that much different than what that homo Osama wants.
Maybe you need to look around a bit more before you start declaring "You know in the good old days........"
Because let's be honest those days weren't so good.

Apparently womens lib scares some extreams of our own White Taliban extrimists. And like the Taliban, there are some well educated well dressed individuals in high society who not only thurn a blind eye to such.......god there isn't even a word to describe such backwards thinking....but even at times offer financian assistance. All with hopes of taking us back 100 or so years.

As for the photo yes. And I was in SL City just a few months back and saw a large number of people dressed as well....Amish. It was a very strange and disturbing experience. Almost like being back in Iran with regards to the dress codes and the false since of decency.
Just not very American if you ask me.
But then again, my image of America is the wide open road, Jimmy Hendrix and strong well educated men and women being treated as equals and standing up for those that can not.

i was just having a debate on this with a co worker. You have to keep in mind alot of those womans come from non poligemist backrounds, and choose to marry into a multi wife family. Its there choice to leave that life you know?

I don't need to defend my beliefs to you. While I am a Republican, I do not support the current administrations handling of our country, especially the Iraq war. I am a Republican in its founding form. Smaller government, less government intervention, more personal responsibility.
