Has anyone seen those single mothers with their 5 children from 6 different fathers (if they even know who the father is)?
They get free medicial care, free ebt/food stamps, etc just for pumping out kids IN DA GHETTO.
If you're a middle class, 2.5 children family you pay out the asshole for insurance all while your tax dollars go to fund Shaniqa Williams and her 5 children's Medicaid and Foodstamps.
We're pretty much doubly taxed under the current system. We pay for both our health care and than the free handouts for the lazy. I wish they would just destroy medicaid.
Hell, even looking at the food stamps statistics a large portion of people on the roles aren't even required to work

*shrug* i feel the same way as the OP to be honest. We have people coming into the pharmacy with free everything, and throw a fit when they don't get their medication for free. Then we have my parents who are struggling to pay their 35% tax and pay for their increasing insurance premiums...they are over 50 and are on their feet over 10 hours a day to make a living. Then the government takes most of it in taxes. Then we have people coming in with Medicare and medicaid and never pays a cent, and are showing off their new cars and new houses from the money the government has given them (i was told by a patient they were given $2k per month per kid...maybe true, maybe not, but still...) or from money from work under the table. I am not saying that it's should be completely taken away, but perhaps a more stringent system would be nice.

My cousin has his own carpet cleaning business. He has 2 boys (age 10 and 14) and is currently paying 900 a month for healthcare.Doesnt seem like a lot but he makes about 50k a year so you can say that almost a quarter of his earnings go towards health care but he is paying for it.Not expecting handouts like some afri i mean americans do

Some random points:
1. If someone comes in requiring urgent/emergent care it is against the law in Maryland to turn them away, regardless of ability to pay
2. This is no way to run a health system, since these people tie up extremely expensive ER beds, but for some, that's all they have
3. There are freeloaders, but most often it is actually young (20-35 year old) single people who are relatively healthy and don't want to pay for healthcare since they're rarely if ever sick. That means costs of healthcare goes up for others since the pool is sicker by definition. When these uninsured suddenly need coverage (usually from an accident of some type), they financially devastated or go bankrupt.
4. The private insurers are not in business to help you, they are in business to make money--for their investors. Taking your premium money and finding ways to deny you coverage consumes the majority of their time.
5. Government sponsored universal coverage would prevent a lot of this abuse. And for those who wanted better coverage, there would be a thriving secondary coverage market (sort of on the order of AFLAC ).
6. The only ones who would really get screwed by this (potentially), are physicians, pharmacies and hospitals. Why? Because when the government needed money, they will ratchet down reimbursements. Just like they do now for Medicare (that's the program for old farts).
7. The real upside would be a general reduction in paperwork (hard as that is to believe), a reduction in costs (less ER visits and needless ambulance rides) and better preventative care.
8. I suspect (though one would have to look at a specific plan) most people who currently have good coverage would pay about the same as they are now, except the excess money would go to cover others and not to pay dividends and corporate bonuses.
I've been in the checkout line at a grocery store with people in front of me buying $300 worth of food and pay with food stamps(not food stamps anymore now it's a credit card type deal). while talking on their cell phone and wearing $200 worth of clothes.
something is wrong with that picture.
and it wasn't the only person I seen doing it. so I know for sure it wasn't someone shopping for someone that may have been ill or what ever.
remember to put in a little more effort at work tomorrow..millions on welfare depend on your support.

I've seen it and hate it too. The big problem is, do you let that asshole's kids starve because the parent is a POS?
I don't have the answer to this, but I think that's where the rub is.

I've seen the same, both in the line and when I use to bag their fucking groceries ...
Just one of the hospitals in this town last year reported a loss of $60 million just in unpaid bills for services.
THAT is de facto free healthcare.
That is just one hospital, in one town, in one year. Don't tell me there isn't free socialized medicine for anyone that wants it and doesn't feel like paying.
