Default Rudy "9/11" "Cut Taxes 23 Times" Giuliani Out

Just heard it on the local newscast. Nothing on the big news outlets, yet.

Said to endorse McCain.

9/11

I hear he dropped out at 9:11 PM.

He only had 911 votes in Orange County.

He has to ride his bus 911 miles back to New York. Too bad.

9/11

So far, I'm one for three. Next up Paul, I'm thinking, but maybe Huckabee. Edwards will be last and has the best chance of ending up a VP.

It's really looking like McCain, which is a shame. He'll be the hardest one to beat.
Didn't take long to have to eat these words.

Did you see the Zogby (maybe it was Gallup) w/ the prospective match-ups?

McCain v. Clinton = McCain
McCain v. Edwards = McCain
McCain v. Obama = Obama

Tell your friends.

hmmm...somebody around here predicted McCain, Romney, Giulliani, Huckabee, Paul....I can't seem to recall who it was though hehe

Next out: huckabee vote split between mccain and romney so no big change

It's shaping up to be a McCain/Romney ticket vs Clinton/??? (don't see her picking Obama unless forced to) so that leaves Edwards

Look Jim...we agree on something

Hey, I was pretty freaking close. Now, if only there was a way to bet on the outcome of the primary...

It's going to be McCain/Lieberman or McCain/Giuliani, I'm thinking the former more so than the latter.

Clinton will pick Clinton. Bill and Hillary, same ticket. It's going to happen. And then we'll get our Roaring Nineties again and all it's economic bliss!

I found it odd that it wasn't on the web before it was on broadcast TV. Usually news comes the other way around now.

McCain can't pick Giulliani...they're too close. Rudy is more "centrist" (read: farther left) than McCain but McCain's record is such that true conservatives and the right wing religious wackos (yep, I'm one of em) don't trust him.

That leaves the necessity to appeal to the conservative majority on the right (religious or otherwise)...McCain appeals to some independents and even some moderate democrats. Should he win the nomination, he must choose a running mate that appeals to the largest number of voters that didn't support him in the primaries and would prefer a more conservative candidate.

Without getting into a debate about social vs. fiscal issues, that really leaves Romney since he has been so popular thus far, or none of the guys that have run. Mikem makes an interesting suggestion with Lieberman. That would be a good gambit play for McCain but would also further ostrasize him from the GOP party. It may however prove to be the best option. At this point I would have to say McCain/Romney.
