Huckabee?
With his random rapid gain in exposure I'm surprised it hasn't come up already. What's the concensus on Huckabee? I'm sure I can predict the answer but it's still worth asking.

He is my number two choice at this point, mainly because he is a supporter of the fair tax.

Of course we agree on that but would it be the end of the world if he were the GOP candidate? I haven't researched him enough but I suppose I should in case it happens. I've yet to be determine whether he's a contender or a pretender...and will Howard Dean it in the primaries.

I'd rather see him get in the white house instead of Romney. But I still won't be voting for him regardless of whether or not he gets the nomination.
I don't think he will.

Huckabee is a great speaker. I have seen him answer some tough questions without hesitation, and he appears to stand on principle.
BUT...
From what I've read he has a pretty bad track record for a conservative. Soft on immigration and criminals, loves taxes.
Im not sure about the circumstances surrounding the tax hikes, they may have been necessary, I dont know.
What I do know is we cant afford to have a "softy" in the whitehouse now. I guess we'll see.

I'm ok with him being the Republican nominee.

Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are running on almost polar opposite platforms.
Ron Paul:
-Will bring the troops home immediately.
-Promotes sound money.
-Will abolish the IRS and replace it with nothing.
-Has an impeccable record in which he has never voted in violation of his oath of office (to defend The Constitution) and never voted to raise taxes.
-Will secure civil liberties and will never abuse the draconian legislation that has been put forth in recent years.
Mike Huckabee:
-Is pro-war
-Wants to institute a "fair tax" in place of the IRS.
-Will do nothing to stop the reckless printing of money that is destroying the dollar.
-Loves to raise taxes
YouTube - Exclusive: Mike Huckabee Begs for Tax Increase .
-Is a neo-con like all the rest.
Don't be fooled. Ron Paul's platform is totally different from that of all other candidates. Only Ron Paul represents the people. All the rest represent or are subservient to special interests. Period.

The only way one of these openly religious candidates could ever win, after getting the nomination, would be to run against clinton.
