I'm sorry for my ignorance on this one. What is the big issue with this?

I saw the story line say "TOXIC" and i thought companys were dumping toxic material in the mountains but they're mining

I am not up in arms about this but I did fly over some of these sites and wondered WTF they were doing. I knew they were Coal Mining but the devastation is crazy.

They basically cut the top of a mountain off. I for one like my Mountain Range views to include the tops.

Mining is extracting Ore from the ground. This is raping the ground for the ore and leaving a mess for future generations to deal with.
