However, I do give props to to the kid that is. He's a hero in my book, but this bastard is using such a powerful incident to give justification.

Essentially, they want to rid us of our guns so they know we can never stop them from forming the new Nazi USA.
You *should* mind getting a license. A right that must be licensed is a right that cannot be freely exercised. In other words, a right that has been violated, even if they have temporarily given you "permission" to exercise it.

And your last paragraph shows that you have an idea *why* you should mind getting a license. Our "leaders" are not Nazis per se, but they do not necessarily have our best interests in mind.

Not to mention that once they license you, they can take that license away for anything they deem reasonable..

Example.. domestic violence offenders are no longer allowed to own guns.. sounds reasonable, until you find out how little it takes to be a domestic abuser.. My brother's wife was cheating on him.. he answered her cell phone when the other guy called (thats how he found out).. He threw her phone against the wall, but never touched her.. But just throwing that phone convicted him of domestic violence....

give them an inch, and they take your whole damn arm....

Q. Why do Australians oil their gardens?
A. So the guns won't rust.

My condolences on the loss of your rights. May you take them back someday.

FACTS AFTER 12 MONTHS OF DATA AFTER AUSTRALIAN GUN CONTROL WAS IMPLEMENTED...

* Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2%.

* Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6%.

* Australia-wide, armed-robberies are up 44%. (yes, FORTY-FOUR PERCENT)

* In the state of Victoria, homicides-with-firearms are up 300%!

* The steady decrease in homicides-with-firearms that occurred during the previous 25 years became an increase in the last 12 months.

* The steady decrease in armed-robbery-with-firearms that occurred during the previous 25 years became an increase in the last 12 months.

* There has been a dramatic increase in breakins-and-assaults-of-the-elderly.

* At the time of the ban, the Prime Minister said "self-defense is not a reason for owning a firearm".

* From 1910 to present, homicides in Australia have averaged about 1.8-per-100,000 or lower, a safe society by any standard.

* The ban has destroyed Australia's standings in some international sport shooting competitions.

* The membership of the Australian Sports Shooting Association has increased by 200% in response to the ban and in an attempt to organize against further controls, which are expected.

* Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain why no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such monumental effort and expense was successfully expended in "ridding society of guns". Their response has been to "wait longer".
