Really? How do 12 year olds figure out how to find drugs and alcohol? They're not allowed to buy them.

Crooked dealers and street sources. The family gun store I do most of my purchasing in does a background check everytime I buy a gun.

Tighter controls would only provide the tools to make it harder to get these guns in the hands of criminals. So what if you have to fill out an extra form to get a gun!
Most people that would fail a background check DO NOT GET THEIR FIREARMS FROM A FFL DEALER. That extra form wouldn't be anything more than a burden to those that legally purchase firearms, and wouldn't stop crime significantly because those that shouldn't get firearms dont' fill out the forms in the first fucking place.

Yes, the criminals will still find guns, but maybe the dumber ones and the 11 year olds may not figure out how to do it.
11 year olds can buy guns?

A stupid criminal that would fail a background check won't get a gun from a FFL as the law currently stands. Sorry, your argument falls flat on its face when applied to this little situation we like to call "reality."

Well, the pharmacy doesn't do background checks for marijuana. Maybe we should lobby for a law?

How about an Alcohol Consumption License?

More laws! More laws!

We kind of already have a license, bars always check my ID, and rarely accept anything but a state issued ID.

We should have mandatory background checks for buying alcohol. If you have ever been convicted of a vehicle moving violation, you are more likely to drive while intoxicated. Think of the lives that could be saved, while those of us who have never broken a traffic law could still buy our alcohol freely! Wait, I have gotten a few tickets.....DAMN!

Ah, there's the problem. I said 11 year olds, not 12 year olds, geeezz. Get with the program!

Once again, you're completely ignoring the meaning of anything written, spouting off whatever you want.

You guys are fun, easy to keep going!

And I said 12 year olds, who are also not allowed to purchase guns or drugs. What the fuck is the possible difference?

Way to avoid the question and the overall point.

You'd think a 37 year old would be able to comprehend basic English.

Okay, you're the one who misquotes me and I'm the one with English problems.

And I didn't realize you actually had a point, sorry!

Because other than the standard party lines about oppressive governments and invading aliens (okay, I made that one up), they haven't got a leg to stand on in the face of today's global realities, so the less information they give out about sources, the easier it is to avoid intelligent debate.

I am still waiting for a response from you in the HR 1022 thread. You suspiciously seem unwilling to give one. So who is avoiding intelligent debate here?

Actually, I addressed your statements directly and concluded that they're either misinformed or completely and utterly wrong.

I guess you missed that part.
