Question realty question

Would it be possible for a us citizen to buy real estate property in cuba? Or does the current embargo make that impossible?

thanks

Can anyone own property there?

If you could I would think Trump would own the entire island by now

At first I thought I was going to make some sort of retort, but decided to read the cliff knotes on Cuba and Communism. You guys should take look, it's pretty interesting.

I think you can own property down there, they have some free trade zones where foreigners can set up their private businesses. The problem is not so much Cuba, it is the US state department that will come after your ass if they find out you have been helping Cuba's economy.

I'm thinking that straw purchases must be happening then..

Imagine the potential if Cuba modernizes politically..

This is why I want to see it NOW!!

Yea I read through those before, but I dont think they really answer if americans can buy property down there. I was just wondering because if castro kicks the bucket, I'm willing to bet within the near future there will be a lot of reform for cuba and property value will rise.
