Default Death Penalty

Well South Dakota is set to execute the first person in about 50 years (i dont want to look it up right now). probably in the next day or two i will have more information on the execution and why he is being executed, but i want some debate here about the death penalty who is for and against it.

I agree with the equal punishment for crime commited thing, but don't do the chair, injections, or the other expensive shit. Use a good old-fashioned firing line, where the cost of all of the bullets that are used is somewhere around $1, not $75,000 for the chemicals... (Figurative amounts of money.)

I'm against it, but didn't vote in your poll because you included the word "Jesus" in my only option. It's as simple as this: people deserve to suffer when they commit heinous crimes. Killing them takes away a lot of that opportunity. I'd rather see someone rot until they're 80, getting fucked in the ass for the rest of their lifetime, than get the easy way out after a few years on death row.

I didnt vote mainly because your choices are limited.

Should people get the death penalty? Sure if they commit violent crimes that take lives or DUI killings..............

Unfortunately, there are some people wrongly accused of shit and then some people who are on death row for shit that is weak.

Really in the end, if its deemed appropriate...........I say axe the fucker.

The whole death penalty thing needs to be toned down. Convicting and sentencing anyone costs more than their life is worth. I'm opposed to the death sentence for most crimes, but when it is a reasonable response MAKE IT CHEAP.

Either axe em or make the cash come from their own account. They committed the crime, they pay the money.

While I'm all for making them suffer, it costs a lot (along the tune of $1mil/year) to keep an inmate in a prison. Sorry, but I'll gladly donate some tax dollars on 5.56 ammunition instead of a lot more tax dollars on giving some douche three hot's and a cot.

here are the key facts from the murder, and the guy plead guilty to it:
He is From Texas
"It’s a difficult image to reconcile with the murder of Poage, who begged for his life, was beaten, stabbed, stripped, stoned and forced to drink hydrochloric acid. His assailants tortured him for more than two hours before killing him in Higgins Gulch, south of Spearfish. Page himself has admitted to kicking Poage 30 or 40 times in the head."
and they pretended to be the victim's friend.

According to http://www.doc.state.nc.us/DOP/cost/cost2001.htm the cost is more like $23,830.85, but think how much ammo that would buy...

Yeah, my .300 mag ammo is about $1 per shell, and that's very expensive.

Today, the closest thing we have to people suffering in prison is when the remote to the 36" big-screen hanging on the wall breaks. I can't stand the idea of serial murderers/rapists just hanging out in prison. I mean, they are supposed to be there to suffer, but it's just a harsh lifestyle to them (at least, thats what I suspect)

I voted in favor of capital punishment, but that does not mean I favor killing someone that could be innocent, or at least guilty of a lesser crime. There has to be proof beyond all reasonable doubt that a person is guilty of a serious crime before we should end their life. If we allow them to sit in prison the rest of their life, we are basically flushing tax dollars down the shitter.
