Angry I feel like siding with Jim and saying he's not my president...

Here's my reason...I just paid $3.15 for a gallon of gas, and I'm pissed

There is one thing that affects the daily life of every American, and that's the price of gas...Whether it's to get to work, take a vacation with the family, fill up the mower, whatever...Every American every day uses it...

Now, the last time I checked, the Prez works for us and is supposed to do his best to make life in the USA the best it can be...Yet I have seen not one thing by him to, if nothing else, ease the price even a little...So he must be working for someone other than us, cause he's slacking in the one area he should be excelling...

Anyone feel free to prove me wrong, as it's just my rant and opinion...

Rant over...

The problem with your thoughts are the concept of a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" was put out to pasture for most of the poeple of this country unless they are the 1 % with the most money. This applies to both parties equally as neather one wants to give up anything to anyone so untill there is a change in the way elected officials do business there will be little relief for the majority of the population.

I remember that two years ago, disavowing him was a controversial idea. Today, continuing to support him is increasingly controversial.

Anyway, I believe part of his backroom mandate was to oversee a rise in gasoline prices. I believe it is the only thing he's done successfully.

I think $4-5 a gallon will casue the shift in paradigm some in the US think we need although it will be the painful way to go.

Wait until you call for the police, fire dept or ambulance and they can't come out to take care of you because the funding for the dept's. gas has been expended due to high gas prices. A few local depts. have stopped patrolling and are only answering verfiable emergency calls because there isn't any money to buy gas. My dept. has already been on our cases about patrolling TOO much (I didn't think there was a limit on public protection).

Yeah it's Bush's fault the gas prices are so high. What's next? Hope he doesn't press the hurricane button again this year? Gas was way too cheap until 5-6 years ago or so. Doesn't europe citizens pay somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 bucks a gallon?

i would say fuel companies are not the problem, but they are. they have influence on auto makers, and auto makers dont want to piss off the fuel guys, by making vehicles that get good milage causing less fill ups. more change from me

europe pays no more than anyone else. unless you want o bitch about the high prices due to the federal tax on oil, then europe angle is meaningless. its taxed way higher, and thats a give and take for them.
i simply find it intersting that gee, all the sudden the oil man gets into office and it goes from like 1.15 to 1.45 in the first few months. then, unlike any other time in history it start jumping dramatically for every little instance. if something happens in a givin country, we get 90% of crude from them. then another little thing happens in another country gas goes up cause we get 70% from them.
every little "crisis" that happens it seems the investers use it to raise oil prices. this shit is the reason us liberals think somethings should be government owned. (yeah i know thats probably just as riske') but since every little faction of the economy is so dependant on fuel (and electric) it shouldnt be left to the private sector to profit from.

I would appreciate if you would use the word "I" in place of "us liberals" when discussing goverment ownership of resources.
