This thread's purpse isn't to question what would happen, or who would win. It's questioning whether or not anybody realizes how lucky they are and what they would do to provide the same for future generations.
I don't care who would win the next American Civil War. I want to know who's willing to stand up for their rights and what it means to you.

There wasn't. The South legally seceded because they didn't want to be stuck with the bullshit from the Northerners.

I thank my lucky stars everyday that those men fought for our freedoms and made it so that I could have the potential to fight against anyone that infringes on the rights that countless men have died for.
You all know exactly how I feel about this shit. I believe all politicians should take office witht the premise that a gun is pointed at their head.
I believe that our government should fear us, not the other way around. I should have access to anything they do not vice versa.
I believe that our society as a whole, is brainwashed and pussified. That people like me, who speak freely are labeled as bigots and nutcase extremists.
I find it amusing that those same people who cant rationalize what I stand for are the ones who will truely need my help when it comes down to it.
I sincerely hope that this country implodes on itself and that the people take this country back from all the back door dealing, palm padding self interests that run this shadow of itself.

The south can't legally seceed any longer, it was written into one of the various documents and iirc it was before they seceeded in the first place. I could be wrong about when it was written though.

At the time of the ratification of the BOR a standing army existed, why then did the framers consider the RKBA important enough to make it second only to freedom of speech/press/religion?

Without the ability to have a militia, there is nothing to keep the government in check.
"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
The founders new that this militia was formed of everyday citizens, using their own weapons. Because of this, they gauranteed the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms.
And yes, it says keep AND BEAR arms. CCW laws are just a now commonly accepted infringment on our constitutional right. Start little, make it accepted, and then go from there.
